"Lyceum College" + reading "Wuthering Heights" has a feeling

author:Happy Star 9s5

Wuthering Heights is a masterpiece by the British writer Emily Brontë and one of the masterpieces of Nineteenth-century English literature. The novel depicts the gypsy outcast Heathcliff being adopted by the old owner of the manor, going out to earn a living because of humiliation and love failure, and after returning, he takes revenge on his girlfriend husband, the old owner's son and their descendants.

However, Heathcliff, who succeeded in revenge, was not happy. The novel describes it this way: "From the outside he was a dark-skinned gypsy, and in terms of his dress and demeanor, he was a gentleman. Maybe he was disheveled and too sloppy, but because his body was tall and beautiful, the overall appearance was still pleasing to the eye. His face was gloomy and he looked very obedient. Some people may well think that he is somewhat uncultured and self-righteous. But deep down I have a lot of sympathy for him. Intuitively, he knew that the reason why he was so cold was out of a kind of disgust, hating that people showed affection for each other—hated people who treated each other kindly. "This description vividly expresses the cold character of the hero." Hate people for being friendly to each other", how much hatred does it take to make the heart so gray?

Throughout Heathcliff's life, full of misfortune, the obsession of not letting go of hatred has deepened his misfortune. He thought that by destroying other people's lives, he could redeem his soul, but he fell deeper and deeper into the pain of the past, and finally pushed himself into the abyss of eternal disaster.

The reason for this is that Heathcliff's level is too low.

People with low levels are not accustomed to the good of others. The lower the level of people, the smaller the pattern, the narrower the mind. He believes that love "can't get it yourself, then destroy it." He often shouted, "As long as I live for one day, you will not rest in peace." I am not happy myself, nor do I make others happy. In reality, stay away from such people who are full of negative energy.

It is often said that "one thought is a Buddha, and one thought is a demon." Previous mistakes have been formed, why bother with the heart, rather than clinging to the mistakes of others, it is better to try to reconcile. What a person really deserves admiration is when he clearly has the strength to retaliate, but he chooses to forgive. Han Xin was once "humiliated by the crotch", and later came to the door to thank him, saying, "If there was no experience, there would be no Han Xin now." Han Xin and Heathcliff, with a mental pattern, are high and low.

Let go of the fault of others and free your own mind. To give others a little compassion is also to save yourself a little dignity. Because, there are not only dark clouds in the sky, but also the moon and stars below the dark clouds.
