As we all know, the five main forces of the Nationalist Army are: the New First Army, the New Sixth Army, the 18th Army, the 74th Army and the 5th Army. These 5 armies can be said to have basically played the whole field during the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression, and it is not unreasonable to claim the five aces, but their combat effectiveness is not the strongest, first of all, it is not better than the Tax Police Corps, nor is it better than the Honorary Division. There are 2 major honorary divisions in the Kuomintang army, namely: the Honorary First Division and the Honorary Second Division, so why is the combat effectiveness strong? The Honorary Division was first composed of officers and men who had recovered from injuries in the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression, and the troops were all veterans who had experienced hundreds of battles, and their combat effectiveness was absolutely strong.
Honorary First Division
The Honorary First Division was established in Liuyang, Hunan in February 1938, and the first mayor was Song Xilian, who administered the Honorary Regiment of the 92nd Division, the Honorary Regiment of the 190th Division, the Honorary Regiment of the 50th Division, and the Honorary Regiment of Hunan Security. In February 1939, the sense of honor was transferred to Du Yuming's 5th Army, the division commander Zheng Dongguo, at the time of the Kunlun Pass Victory, the Honorary First Division was the most meritorious, and Chiang Kai-shek and Soong Meiling personally went to the Honorary First Division.
In September 1941, the Honorary First Division was transferred to Li Mi's 8th Army, but at the Battle of Songshan, the Honorary First Division suffered heavy losses, and since then the combat effectiveness has dropped significantly, and in 1944, the Honorary First Division entered northern Burma and western Yunnan, and on January 10, 1949, it was completely annihilated by our East China Field Army in the Battle of Huaihai.
Honorary Second Division
In 1943, at the suggestion of Du Yuming, the Honorary Second Division was formed, and since its establishment, it has been stationed in the border area of Yunnan, and the division commander is Dai Jian. After the victory of the War of Resistance, the Allies asked the Chinese government to send troops to japan, and the Honorary Second Division was also under the Nationalist government Xuanzong, and in April 1946, the Honorary Second Division took a boat from the Vietnamese area through Hong Kong to Shanghai, preparing to go to Japan here, but in June 1946, Chiang Kai-shek suddenly changed his order.
The Honorary Second Division was temporarily transferred to the central Soviet Union to support Tang Enbo, but Tang Enbo separated the Honorary Second Division into the 65th Division and the 69th Division, so the Honorary Second Division began a civil war, and then it was also incorporated into Li Tianxia's integrated 83rd Division, becoming the integrated 44th Brigade, and in the Battle of Menglianggu, because Li Tianxia did not let the reorganized 44th Brigade into battle, so Chiang Kai-shek thought that he had preserved his strength, and Li Tianxia was dismissed. Later, in the Battle of Huaihai, it was completely annihilated by our East China Field Army.
The Honorary Second Division belongs to Chiang Kai-shek's concubine line and has a complete structure, with 14,500 people. There are 3 infantry regiments, an artillery regiment, a transport regiment, as well as tanks, engineers, communication battalions, etc. and 200 gendarmes. The combat effectiveness of the two honorary divisions was actually stronger than that of the five main forces, whether it was combat experience or weapons and equipment, but in the end they were all annihilated by our army and became history.
