Two of the "Yangmen Women" have archetypes in history. "Mu Guiying" is Yang Wenguang's wife, not Yang Wenguang's mother.
Yang Wenguang has 19 wives and 4 sons in the commentary, so what is the historical truth?

First, the origin of the legend of Mu Guiying.
According to Zeng Gong's "Longping Collection", Yang Yanzhao had three sons, namely Yang Chuanyong, Yang Dezheng, and Yang Wenguang:
His sons Chuanyong, Dezheng, and Wenguang were poor.
However, what Yang Chuanyong and Yang Dezheng did in history is not recorded in history.
Yang Wenguang was the third son of Yang Yanzhao, and his main historical merit was to resist the invasion of Western Xia during the reign of Emperor Shenzong of Song, and later served as the deputy governor of Dingzhou Road and the marquis of infantry.
Yang Zongbao, on the other hand, is a completely fictional character.
According to yuanzao's "Breaking Heaven Array", Yang Liulang's son was named Zong Bao. This is the origin of Yang Zongbaozhi's statement.
Later, in the Ming Dynasty Jiajing novel "Biography of the Northern Song Dynasty", Yang Zongbao's son was described as Yang Wenguang. The commentary has been continuously exerted.
Yang Yanzhao was the eldest son of Yang Ye, a famous general of the Northern Song Dynasty, who became the nemesis of the Liao people because of his bravery in the Battle of youyan, the Liao people regarded him as the sixth star in the sky, so he was called Yang Liulang, not the sixth in line.
Yang Wenguang's wife was Murong Shi, the historical archetype of Mu Guiying. According to Qianlong's Baode Zhou Zhi, Volume II:
Yan Zhaozi Wenguang, married Murong Shi and was good at war. Present-day Nanmuta Village, like its hometown cloud.
Yang Wenguang's cousin Yang Qi was also married to Murong Shi as a wife. According to Ouyang Xiu's "Yang Qi's Epitaph":
"Yang Qi first married Mu Rongshi, and then married Li Shi."
Five generations later, many of the Xianbei people on the northwest border of the Northern Song Dynasty were integrated into the Dangxiang tribe and the Tuguhun tribe, and after breeding and development, the Murong clan of the Dangxiang tribe became the surname of the Xianbei tribe. As an ancient Xianbei nobleman, Murong Shi had a tradition of shangwu in history.
The Yang family lived in Linzhou and was the residence of the Dangxiang clan. Therefore, there are conditions for marriage between the two parties. According to the Biography of the Song Dynasty:
Dangxiang, the land of ancient analysis, another species of the HanXi Qiang, was strong in the Later Zhou Dynasty. ...... Jinling, Xia, Sui, Lin, Fu, Huan, Qing, Fengzhou, Zhenrong, Tiande, Zhenwujun and their clan accounts.
According to Book VIII of the "Collection of Good Cliffs":
The old soil of Linzhou, the new Qin, the Rong people Suihuang, in heyiqu, the Dangxiang tribe, the Han people mixed.
It shows that at that time, Han and Dangxiang people lived in mixed residence, and marriage was very common.
Therefore, the scholar Wei Juxian's article "Yang Jiajian and His Examination" believes that Mu Guiying's "Mu" surname is a transliteration of "Murong". Mr. Zhai Bozan also agrees with this view.
These basic historical facts, after a long period of artistic processing by storytellers, Murong Clan gradually evolved into Mu Guiying, who was superb in martial arts and broke the Heavenly Gate Array.
But one thing must be clarified, that is, Murong Shi was Yang Wenguang's wife, not his mother.
In the commentary, Yang Wenguang, the Prince of Taiping, had as many as nineteen wives, two of whom were surnamed Murong. There are many wives and concubines, one name is unknown, 18 of them are:
Jin Pingzhu, Du Yueying, Dou Jingu, Bao Feiyun, Qi Changshan, Princess Zhao Baihua of Hundred Flowers, Su Sanniang, Murong Ying, Nong Yanhua, Li Yuru, Marquis Wu Jinding of Pingnan, Liu Xiangchun, Zeng Fengying, Mei Ruolan, Zhao Chunrong, Wanhualou Xue Baihua, Murong Zhaorong, Fan Wenxuan.
In the commentary, Yang Wenguang has four sons, the youngest son Yang Huaiyu is the most outstanding.
Also named "Huaiyu", there is Qin Shubao's son Qin Huaiyu, who is a character inspired by creation.
In history, Yang Wenguang did have four sons, but he did not have so many wives.
Second, the legend and origin of She Taijun.
The historical prototype of the Yangmen female general She Lao Taijun is the Folding Taijun. He is highly skilled in martial arts, similar to Han Shizhong's wife Liang Hongyu. According to the Qing Dynasty's "Jin Dynasty Search Sketch Volume 20":
"According to the legends of the township, the folding of the king is good at riding, the servant skill is too brave to be more than the subordinate, and the enemy is defeated by soldiers such as the relatives of the lady of the King of Pu to help Gu Ran."
According to the Qing "Baode Zhou Zhi":
"Yang Ye marries a woman of folding virtue."
Fold Taijun was born into a family of famous generals, her great-grandfather was the Later Tang Linzhou Thorn History, her grandfather Folding Yuanyuan was the Fuzhou Thorn History; her father was Fold Defu.
The Folding Family is a member of the Dangxiang Clan, and during the Five Dynasties and Ten Kingdoms period, the Folding Family was powerful.
"Monopolize the prefectures, control the northwest, and Rely on China."
In the Later Zhou Dynasty, He was given the title of Envoy of the Yong'an Army.
"Father and son lead the festival town, and the people are glorious."
After the founding of the Song Dynasty, the Folding Family will guard the northwest frontier of the Song Dynasty, fighting against the Northern Han and Liao States for a long time, and the famous generals will be born:
"Since Nguyễn (the father of Tak Tak Tak), the successor general, Shi Du is loyal, enough to defend the northwest, can be said to be worthy of the Song Dynasty."
Therefore, Yang Ye's marriage to the daughter of The Folding Virtue also belongs to the door-to-door pair. Later, it was said that the book people used homophones to spread false rumors, called She Lao Taijun.
After the marriage of Folding Yang, Yang Ye fought outside, and Folding Taijun organized servants to learn martial arts in the palace, training martial arts and loyalty.
She lived to be 77 years old, born in the Later Tang Dynasty (934) and died in the third year of the Song Dynasty (1010).
