In 2000, the online fast transfer business developed rapidly, and Musk chose to merge X.com company with the Confinity company founded by Peter Till and Max Ravchen in order to gain an advantage in this field, and the new company was named PayPal.
After the establishment of the new company, it focused on the field of mobile payments, and two years later, PayPal was wholly owned by Ebe, the world's largest online business at the time, for $1.5 billion.
Musk, PayPal's largest shareholder, owns an 11.7 percent stake, and he received $165 million during the acquisition. After PayPal was acquired, many of his core technologies and developers were poached, and Musk's partners left the company.
