In November, pure electric vehicles accounted for 72% of the global new energy market, with a total of about 518,000 units sold, a record high, and the overall automobile market accounted for 8.3%. From January to November 2021, the cumulative sales of new energy passenger cars in the world have exceeded 5.5 million units, with a record market share of 8.1%, and it is expected that the annual sales volume in 2021 will easily exceed 6.5 million units, almost twice that of 2020, and it is also in the case of a shortage of automotive chips.

In the camp of traditional car brands, there are almost no bright spots, and the only one that set a record for sales next month is the Toyota RAV4 PHEV. Judging from the total sales of new energy vehicles under the world's major car companies, BYD continues to sit on the championship throne and writes a new chapter with more than 90,000 vehicles, it seems that it will increase production capacity by about 10,000 units every month, and the gap between it and Tesla in 2022 may continue to narrow.

While Hyundai and Kia are competing for tenth place, Great Wall and GAC are already in the top 15, and while sales of the RAV4 PHEV are at an all-time high, sales of Toyota's remaining product lines are still slow. Xiaopeng, Chery and Ideal all have the potential to create bigger surprises in December.
From the perspective of car company market share, Tesla is far ahead with 14%, and it is expected to increase to 15% by the end of the year, 1 percentage point less than in 2020 and 2 percentage points less than in 2019. Volkswagen and SAIC remained second and third, at 12 percent and 11 percent, respectively, while BYD came in fourth with 10 percent.
Looking ahead to 2022, Tesla is expected to remain in the lead, but some pressure will be felt from BYD, and BYD should also be able to easily surpass Volkswagen and SAIC.
