Later, under the banner of "opposing feudal thinking" and "opposing arranged marriages," they ran outside to find the so-called like-minded people in their hearts to marry.
At this time, the original partner in the family had already given birth to a child for him, and could not leave, and was generally placed in his hometown to serve his parents. And outside, there are progressive women with "new ideas" who wash and cook for them, and carry out alternative "polygamous" lives. And he also put himself on the moral high ground.
After the founding of New China, this phenomenon was naturally not allowed to continue. Thus, in the newly enacted Marriage Act of 1950, the state forcibly abolished this system of "polygamy", or the direct blossoming of the so-called free youth. Since then, China has officially implemented a true "monogamous" system.
The abolition of this system also raises a legacy question, that is, what should women who have become concubines do, or what should the "original partners" who serve their parents in their hometowns? In order to respect these women, the final solution is that the wife will remain in the same position, but the name of the aunt will be eliminated.
These women can decide to stay on their own, but if they are incapacitated, women who do not want to leave their husbands and wives have no right to forcibly evict. On the one hand, this can make a free choice for women who want to start over, and on the other hand, women who have no source of livelihood can be guaranteed.
It is still very reasonable that this policy should be implemented, because almost all the interests of the wife and the concubine are taken into account. And those husbands are also very enviable, after all, left and right. But in fact, love should always be the only one to get, and marriage is even more so.
