The Department of Gastroenterology of Yongzhou Central Hospital successfully carried out endoscopic internal hemorrhoid ligation

Red Net Moment, January 17 (Correspondent Tang Fengbo) On January 10, 2022, Lei Jianguo, chief physician of the Department of Gastroenterology of the Lingling Branch of Yongzhou Central Hospital, successfully carried out endoscopic internal hemorrhoid ligation for patients, and the patients had no pain, blood in the stool, and distention after surgery.

The prevalence of anorectal disease in urban and rural residents over the age of 18 (inclusive) in China is as high as 50.1%, of which hemorrhoids are the most common anorectal diseases, with a prevalence rate of 49.1%, and the number of hemorrhoids accounts for 98.09% of all people suffering from anorectal diseases.

Hemorrhoids can be divided into external hemorrhoids, internal hemorrhoids and mixed hemorrhoids, and are more common in people aged 45-65 years. When hemorrhoids occur, the venous plexus of the human anus or the lower end of the rectum is congested or stasis and swollen, and it is easy to have symptoms such as bleeding, pain, swelling, foreign body sensation, itching, and prolapse of hemorrhoids (commonly known as meaty folds). At present, the main surgical methods of hemorrhoids are surgical supramucosal cycloscopy (PPH), selective supramorrhoidal mucosal anastomosis (TST) and endoscopic treatment of hemorrhoids, and the treatment of endoscopic hemorrhoids has the advantages of protecting the normal structure of the anus, reducing postoperative pain and bleeding and other complications.

At present, the Department of Gastroenterology of Yongzhou Central Hospital has routinely carried out endoscopic minimally invasive treatment of hemorrhoids, and will continue to explore and carry out new technologies to provide patients with better diagnosis and treatment technology and send the gospel to patients with hemorrhoids in the city.
