Strangely, we never seem to be the same person, compared to South Korea, Japan, Vietnam, although these countries have different degrees of conflict with us, but the common ground with each other is also obvious, are part of the Confucian cultural circle, China is their cultural undeniable suzerainty, but Mongolia is not so, we always feel that this country seems to have never been influenced by us, or the influence is very limited. Why?
To understand this problem clearly, we need to understand the difference between the terms "Mo nan" and "Mo Bei", in short, the mobei region is equivalent to today's Mongolia, while the monan region belongs roughly to today's Inner Mongolia. Although both belong to the grassland area, the climate and environment between the southern and northern deserts are still very different. The south of the desert has always been known for its fertile water and grass and relatively pleasant climate, while the north of the desert is relatively poor. In the "Chronicle of History", the envoys of the Han Dynasty once advised the Xiongnu Shan Yu: If you can fight with my Great Han, our Son of Heaven will lead the soldiers to fight with you; if you can't fight, then call the south a vassal. Why "die in the cold and bitter land of the desert and no water grass"? It can be seen that the land of the desert north is a place that nomadic people themselves can't see.
For a long time, Mo nan has had a close connection with the Central Plains by virtue of its geographical location, and this connection can be completed through peaceful exchanges or through war, in short, Mo Nan has been more influenced by the culture of the Central Plains. This is not the case in the north of the desert, they have the barrier of the south of the desert, and they have no strength or opportunity to be influenced by the culture of the Central Plains.
If it is said that the nomadic culture of the southern desert is affected to a certain extent by the farming culture of the Central Plains, then the influence of the northern part of the desert is almost zero, and they retain a more pure nomadic culture, and the nomadic culture, in the final analysis, cannot be unified with the farming culture.
The northern desert region was incorporated into the Central Plains during the Qing Dynasty, but in the Republic of China, this land was taken away by the Soviets, and then Mongolia became a vassal of the Soviet Union to a certain extent, and the Soviet Union made profound changes to their economy, culture, and religion, and they turned Mongolia into the Mongolia of Soviet Russia, not Mongolia within the Chinese cultural circle.
