On January 25, Taiwan regional deputy leader Lai Ching-te set off to "visit" Honduras to attend President Castro's inauguration ceremony. Lu Xinji, an assistant professor at the Institute of International Politics at Chung Hsing University in Taiwan, said in an interview with hong Kong's China Commentary Agency that Tsai Ing-wen sent Lai Qingde on a "foreign visit" to a certain extent, because the task of "deepening friendship" issued by Tsai was entrusted to Lai, and as far as the current international situation of the Taiwan authorities is concerned, lai's risks are high, and if there are changes in Taiwan-Hong Kong relations in the follow-up, Lai's political prestige may be damaged.

In addition, Lu Xinji pointed out that Lai Qingde "transited" the United States on the way to Honduras this time, on behalf of the United States, he understands that he is a person who may compete for the "big position", so he is willing to make a statement at the political level, which is a big niche for Lai to win the 2024 victory. On the other hand, however, the United States has stressed to the outside world that Lai Qingde's "transit" is not an official but a private form, which is in line with the US one-China policy and represents that the United States is also testing, so how Lai's subsequent road develops depends on personal creation and changes in the overall situation.

Lai Qingde is scheduled to set off for a "foreign visit" to Honduras on the 25th, "transiting" through Los Angeles and San Francisco, and also having the opportunity to meet with US Vice President Harris in Honduras. Tsai Ing-wen also entrusted three tasks, including deepening "friendship", deepening cooperation, and deepening "international participation".

In this regard, Lu Xinji said that Lai Qingde's "transit" was only in the west of the United States, and did not enter the political center of the eastern United States. Lu Xinji said that of course, from the geographical logic of the "foreign visit" to Honduras, the transfer of imports from the southwest of the United States is a reasonable arrangement, but if the United States is willing to give further declaration significance at the political level and let Lai Qingde enter the political center of the United States, it will be more intense, representing that although the United States has accepted Lai Qingde, it still has a gap in strength.

The second is that the United States denies that Lai Qingde's "transit" is an official form. Lu Xinji pointed out that the United States has stressed to the outside world that Lai's "transit" is a private form of unofficial form, and everything is in line with the US one-China policy, which means that the US side is still worried about China's perception. Therefore, the US side still has some grasp of Lai Qingde's entry, and then it depends on the reception specifications of the United States, so as to further see where the United States recognizes Lai?

With regard to Lai Qingde's recent use of the opportunity to "transit" through the United States and interact with US officials during or in his interaction with US officials, Zhu Fenglian, spokeswoman for the Taiwan Affairs Office of the State Council, pointed out in response to a question a few days ago that the DPP authorities have used the so-called "transit" of the United States to plot official contacts between the United States and Taiwan and to seek opportunities to plot "independence" manipulations, which is a consistent trick of their "relying on the United States and seeking independence." No matter what name or tricks they play, they cannot change the fact that there is only one China in the world and that Taiwan is a part of China.

Zhu Fenglian said: We are resolutely opposed to any form of official exchanges between the United States and the Taiwan region. We urge the US side to abide by the one-China principle and the stipulations of the three Sino-US joint communiques and not to send the wrong signal to the "Taiwan independence" forces. Supporting Taiwan and seeking "independence" will only further damage peace and stability in the Taiwan Strait and will only lead to the consequences of playing with fire and self-immolation.
