Geely and Lifan jointly established Ruilan Automobile, focusing on power exchange products and services

Blue Whale Automobile on January 25, Geely Automobile announced that the joint venture company established by Geely and Lifan Technology has completed the industrial and commercial registration procedures and obtained a business license issued by the Market Supervision and Administration Bureau of Chongqing Liangjiang New Area, China, which is named Chongqing Ruilan Automobile Technology Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "Ruilan Automobile").

According to Tianyan, the joint venture company established by Geely and Lifan Technology at a 50:50 share ratio, the legal representative of Ruilan Automobile is Lou Yuanfa, with a registered capital of 600 million yuan, and its business scope includes: auto parts research and development; industrial design services; new car sales; new energy vehicle sales.

The announcement shows that Ruilan Automobile will launch a variety of power form products in the future. Based on self-developed power exchange technology, Ruilan Automobile is committed to creating an intelligent power exchange ecology and providing competitive power exchange products and services for the market.

The joint venture between Geely and Lifan mainly provides a complete set of solutions for B-end and C-end users, including power exchange products and power exchange services. Geely and Lifan joint venture company will adopt the GBRC platform, which is highly compatible and can adapt to a wide wheelbase range of 2700~3100mm, covering many categories such as cars, SUVs, MPVs and even logistics vehicles, light trucks, etc., to meet the needs of different markets such as online car-hailing, private car, taxi, logistics vehicle and so on.

The joint venture plans to build more than 5,000 high-speed substations by 2025, covering more than 100 core cities, in addition to launching a new power exchange brand and launching the "Awakening Freedom Force 2022" global name campaign for the tram replacement system.

In terms of power exchange services, Geely Swap Power Station can provide a full range of charging and replacing energy supplement services, high modularity, high compatibility, high intelligence, high safety and high service capabilities and other advantages, and more compatible, can provide services for most brands, categories of power exchange models, 60 seconds of speed to change the power, will also bring users a new energy supplementary experience.

According to the planning of both sides, the future "power exchange" service will not only be "power exchange", but also include the "vehicle power separation" management mode and ecological layout of vehicle battery operation, decommissioned battery energy storage and utilization, and scrap battery regeneration.

On April 23, 2020, the Ministry of Finance and other four ministries and commissions jointly issued a new policy on new energy subsidies, clearly pointing out that new energy vehicles with a starting price of more than 300,000 yuan will no longer enjoy subsidies, but the vehicles that support the power exchange mode are exceptions, so as to encourage the development of a new business model of "power exchange".

In recent years, many automobile companies have entered the power exchange track, before the Weilai, Dongfeng, BAIC, Changan, SAIC, and then there are Aodong, Ningde era. On the one hand, the current scale of the substation is not large, and the entire industry has just started, full of opportunities. On the other hand, the cost of changing electricity is high, and it is difficult to make a profit in the early stage.
