In the 90-minute performance, the artists recreated the glorious years of bloody struggle with magnificent music and sonorous and powerful dance.

In 2021, in order to warmly celebrate the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China, the large-scale musical and dance epic "Liberation of Hainan Island" lasted for two months of rehearsal and repeated revision, and finally premiered at the Hainan Provincial Song and Dance Theater on June 30, 2021 as an excellent performance play in Hainan Province to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China. On December 23 of the same year, "Liberation of Hainan Island", as a key work selected for the "100 Years and 100 Works" creative plan of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, was held at the Hainan Provincial Song and Dance Theater and passed the acceptance of the expert group.
As an important cultural event during the Beijing Winter Olympic Games, it is of great significance for the musical and dance epic "Liberation of Hainan Island" to be exhibited and performed in Beijing. It is understood that in order to perfectly present the works to the Beijing audience, according to the work schedule of the "Meet in Beijing" International Art Festival, the main creative staff led by the national first-class director Deng Lin met again in January this year. Since January 10, more than 140 main creators have gathered in Haikou to rearrange and revise in more than ten days. This performance perfectly combines Hainan's excellent traditional culture and the historical theme of the red classic revolution, highlighting the heroic pictures and touching scenes of the major historical themes - the liberation war on Hainan Island, and at the same time innovatively integrating Hainan folk customs into the program arrangement, showing hainan's profound cultural heritage to the whole country.
