IT House January 30 news, today, Strategy Analytics released a report that to take advantage of people's demand for mobile office devices, Microsoft launched a large-scale Surface series of updates, and for the first time ranked among the world's top tablet manufacturers.

In the report, Strategy Analytics notes that most vendors are frustrated in acquiring components to meet continued high demand. In Q4 2021, supply constraints caused global tablet shipments to decline 25% year-over-year.

IT House understands that the report shows that for the whole of 2021, global tablet shipments fell by 3% to 183.1 million units.

In Q4 2021, Apple's iPad shipments (wholesale) fell 22% year-on-year to 14.6 million units, and its global market share rose by 1 percentage point to 31%, leading the global tablet market.

Samsung remains the largest tablet maker for Android, but its tablet shipments fell 28 percent to 7.3 million units in Q4 2021, while its market share fell 0.7 percentage points to 16 percent over the same period.

Among Android vendors, Amazon performed best due to amazon's large holiday season discounts; shipments fell 13 percent to 5.8 million units, and its market share rose 1.7 percentage points to 12 percent.

Lenovo tablet shipments broke nine consecutive quarters of growth, falling 17 percent to 4.6 million units in Q4 2021 and up 1 percentage point year-over-year to 10 percent.

Microsoft ranked among the world's top five tablet manufacturers for the first time, with a total of 1.9 million tablet shipments, up just 1% year-over-year, and its market share increased by 1 percentage point to 4%.
