At 9:00 a.m. today (February 2), the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympic Torch Relay officially began, and the launching ceremony was held on the South Gate Square of the South Park of Beijing Olympic Forest Park. Today's torch relay will take place in the three areas of Aosen, Beijing Winter Olympic Park and Shougang Park, and will last until 7 p.m., followed by a city evening display event.
The first three sticks of the torch relay are luo Zhihuan, former world speed skating champion, jing haipeng, aerospace hero, and Ye Peijian, people's scientist, and the last stick is Li Xinggang, the designer of the bird's nest. According to the reporter, there are a total of 135 torchbearers at the Orsen relay point, with a total distance of 10.6 kilometers, and the average transmission distance of each stick is about 79 meters. In the context of the normalization of epidemic prevention and control, the point was selected in Aosen first, because it can better prevent the spread of the epidemic in a relatively closed space, and second, because it is representative, reflecting the concept of green Olympics.
