BYD's blockbuster new car PLUS is listed
Recently, BYD's new blockbuster new car, compact pure electric SUV - yuan PLUS, sold for 131,800-15.98 million yuan.
The new car is based on BYD's latest e-platform 3.0, all of which are equipped with blade batteries, heat pump systems and eight-in-one electric drive systems, with a maximum motor power of 150kW and a maximum torque of 310N·m, the official zero-hundred acceleration is only 7.3s, and the official power consumption is 12.1kWh/100km. In terms of intelligence, the new car will be equipped with DiLink 4.0 intelligent network system and DiPilot intelligent driver assistance system, equipped with ACC-S&G start-stop full-speed domain adaptive cruise system, ICC intelligent pilot system, active safety system, APA automatic parking and other practical functions.
In the past 2021, BYD's new energy vehicle sales Changhong sold more than 590,000 new energy vehicles, but the Yuan family only contributed 41,402 vehicles, which is the lowest sales volume in the Dynasty car series. Volkswagen CEO: Lidar is essential for L3 autonomous driving
According to foreign media reports, Volkswagen Group CEO Herbert Diess recently participated in the Q&A event of the social news platform Reddit, answering many questions about electrification, software and autonomous driving.
Asked where he stands on lidar, he said:
"Lidar technology is still expensive, but it's the only way to provide redundant perception for 360-degree visual perception systems right now. Safety is really important for autonomous driving. For L3 level autonomous driving, redundancy perception is a must. ”
According to reports, Volkswagen Group has signed a cooperation agreement with MobileEye, an intel-owned autonomous driving company, to jointly develop lidar.
Interestingly, Diess has a close personal relationship with Tesla CEO Elon Musk, and he is even considered to be the number one "special blow" in the automotive industry. Des not only praised Musk and Tesla in public many times, but also last year Volkswagen held a management meeting, he actually invited Musk to "give lessons" to 200 executives of volkswagen group, through video conferencing, Musk gave a speech to 200 Volkswagen executives on the direction of Volkswagen's transformation of electric vehicles, management style, supply chain and production issues. However, on the question of whether lidar is needed for autonomous driving, Dies holds the opposite view with Musk.

When asked about his attitude toward the use of lidar, Musk once made a big fuss, saying that "Lidar is a fool's errand" and that fools use lidar. Because according to the first principle, people only need eyes to drive, they don't need lidar, so cars don't need to.

GM will use hydrogen fuel cells to charge electric vehicles
EMPOWER fast charging station
This year, Cadillac's first electric vehicle based on the Aoteneng platform, LYRIQ, is about to be mass-produced, which means that Cadillac, a 120-year-old car brand, will usher in a new era of electrification.
In order to achieve the vision of "zero accidents, zero emissions, and zero congestion", GM has opened its mind in the construction of energy replenishment infrastructure and designed a set of electric vehicle refueling solutions based on HYDROTEC hydrogen fuel cell technology.
Based on different usage scenarios, GM demonstrated three kinds of electric vehicle charging equipment that can convert hydrogen fuel into direct current: "EMPOWER Fast Charging Station", "MPG Mobile Power Generation Vehicle" and "Pallet Mobile Power Generation System". They all use GM's second-generation HYDROTEC technology, which can output 60-600kW of charging power, with zero emission, low noise, and high efficiency.
Among them, the "EMPOWER Fast Charging Station" was jointly developed by General Motors and Renewable Innovations, which can help gas stations in remote areas increase charging service capacity without expanding the capacity of power facilities. Each "EMPOWER Fast Charging Station" contains 8 HYDROTEC energy units that can quickly charge 4 electric vehicles at the same time, and each hydrogen fuel can charge more than 10 electric vehicles. It is expected that by 2025, GM will put into use 50 "EMPOWER fast charging stations" in the United States.
The "MPG Mobile Generator," also jointly developed by GM and Renewable Innovations, will be installed on the trailer and can be flexibly moved for temporary emergency charging services. The "Pallet Mobile Power Generation System" can be loaded and unloaded by forklift and transported by truck, and the power supply capacity is stronger than that of the "MPG Mobile Generator", which can charge large electric vehicles and mechanical equipment, and the output power is increased by 70% compared with the diesel generator of similar size.
GM's history of developing hydrogen fuel cells dates back to 1966, when they launched the world's first experimental vehicle equipped with hydrogen fuel cells, the EIectroVan. Now, GM is exploring different modes of use of fuel cells, not only to make a car equipped with a hydrogen fuel cell, but also to separate the car from the fuel cell and use the fuel cell to supplement electric vehicles.
