(1) The wife sends the groom to the examination room
On August 1, 1902, Zheng Fengcui was born into a wealthy family in Shimen County, Hunan Province, shangxi Henan Yue Temple.
Her home is very close to Wang Erzhuo's family (Guanqiao Village), only 10 miles away.
The two families are familiar with each other, so since she was a child, Zheng Fengcui has set up a doll kiss with Wang Er, who is one year younger than her.
At that time, it was absolutely necessary to pay attention to the door to the door, and the Two Families of Wang Zheng were not ordinary peasant families. Wang Erzhuo's family has more than 20 acres of land, which can be called well-off; while Zheng Fengcui's family is even more powerful, it can be said that it is a landlord. Therefore, the Wang family has a bit of a high taste for the Zheng family. And the Zheng family is also quite discerning, because Wang Erzhuo has been different since he was a child, he is not only handsome in appearance, but also very intelligent, and the future is promising, of course, the Zheng family must preemptively "land".
Wang Erzhuo really lived up to expectations, starting from the private school, followed by the county senior primary school, the Hunan Higher Industrial School Affiliated Middle School, and the Hunan Provincial Grade A Industrial School, all the way down, all of which are the existence of the academic hegemony level. Up to the hall, down to the kitchen, Zheng Fengcui is a standard good daughter-in-law, Wang Erzhuo's parents are happy to close their mouths.
The wedding ceremony soon began with the New Year, and from the third day of the Chinese New Year, Wang Erzhuo took his wife to pay homage to the clan one by one. In addition to sending a generous gift to each elder, Zheng Fengcui also distributed a handful of "pinching sugar" to each child, which the bride brought from her mother's house. For all the elders, Zheng Fengcui always knelt on both knees and bowed down in a dignified manner. In the early summer of 1924, after Wang Erzhu learned the enrollment information of the Whampoa Military Academy, he decided to apply for the examination after a long time of great ambition. When he told his parents and wife, his family supported him. "Repentant husband and wife looking for a marquis", Zheng Fengcui of course has this kind of thought, but she still respects her husband's ambitions and resolutely supports Wang Erzhuo to go out and show her great ambitions.

(2) On the one hand, it is difficult to seek eternal wounds
Wang Er said goodbye to his wife and came to the provincial capital of Changsha to conduct the initial examination for enrollment at the Whampoa Military Academy. In the face of the well-known scholar and revolutionary He Shuheng, Wang Erzhuo was not afraid of the stage, full of self-confidence, and conquered this strict examiner and successfully entered the re-examination with a heroic essay expressing his ambition, "Trying to Describe the Volunteer of Entering the Whampoa Military Academy".
Leaving Changsha, Wang Erzhu came to Shanghai. Facing the world-famous Huangpu River, he was once again full of pride. The chief examiner of the re-examination was Mao Zedong. Wang Erzhuo has also heard of Mao Zedong's name for a long time, and now he is even more excited when he sees it. Mao Zedong was also impressed by this Hunan compatriot, who was 10 years younger than himself, and his erudition and ambition were by no means mediocre. The two admired each other, and as a result, Wang Erzhu passed the retest again. He then went south to Guangdong for the general examination of the Whampoa Military Academy.
The total test is a piece of cake, easy to pass, Wang Erzhuo entered the first phase of Huangpu with his head held high.
Since then, Wang Erzhuo has ushered in the spring of his life. In Huangpu, Wang Erzhuo was as good as ever, and received great attention and favor from Zhou Enlai, director of the Political Department, and the two became friends of Mo Rebellion.
Because of his excellent performance in school, after Wang Erzhuo graduated, he was retained by Zhou Enlai and served as the leader of the second and third student detachments and party representatives of the Whampoa Military Academy. It was not until the crusade against Chen Jiongming began that Wang Erzhuo walked out of school and embarked on a lifelong military career.
Let's talk about Zheng Fengcui. On September 30, 1924, Zheng Fengcui gave birth to a daughter. According to Wang Erzhuo's explanation before leaving, she named her daughter Guifang. When her husband was not at home, Zheng Fengcui took care of her elderly in-laws while raising her daughter. Although she was tired, her heart was always full of hope, thinking about how happy it would be to see her daughter when she returned one day!
How many times has she seen her second husband in her dreams, how many times she has reunited with a family of three in her dreams, and how many times she has laughed and cried out of happiness in her dreams! However, after waking up from the dream, there were only tears wetting the pillow, where was my lang?
After year after year, looking at her daughter Guifang, who is more than two years old, Wang Erzhuo still has no news...
Finally, in early February 1927, Zheng Fengcui received a letter from her husband, Wang Erzhuo. In the letter, Wang Erzhuo said to let her go to Wuhan to find him. Zheng Fengcui was very excited after receiving the letter, she hugged her daughter and said: "Your father has written a letter, we will go to your father!" So she packed her bags and set off with her 2-year-old daughter.
However, when Zheng Fengcui's mother and daughter arrived in Wuhan, they pounced...
After the Eastern Crusade, Wang Erzhuo participated in the Northern Expedition. He entrusted someone to deliver the letter to his wife on the way to the Northern Expedition. Because he was resting in Wuhan with the troops at that time, he also rented a house at No. 21 Loess Slope and wanted his wife to reunite.
So why did Wang Erzhuo break the contract? People in the rivers and lakes, involuntarily. Because of his excellent performance in both the Eastern Expedition and the Northern Expedition, he received great attention from Chiang Kai-shek. At that time, the two parties began to split, and the old Chiang wanted to co-opt Wang Erzhuo, but Wang Erzhuo was determined and repeatedly rejected Chiang Kai-shek. Old Jiang was furious and wanted to kill him to avoid any trouble. When Wang Erzhuo learned of this, he left the Northern Expedition advance team and went to Shanghai to find Zhou Enlai.
Because Chiang Kai-shek was engaged in counter-revolutionary incidents in Shanghai, Wang Erzhu returned to Wuhan with Zhou Enlai. After arriving in Wuhan, Wang Jingwei also began a counter-revolutionary incident, and then Wang Erzhuo went south with Zhou Enlai to participate in the Nanchang Uprising.
At this stage, he just missed the opportunity to get together with his wife Zheng Fengcui. Later, when Wang Erzhu returned to Wuhan, he found a letter left by his wife in the room he rented:
"My daughter and I left on February 2, lived in Changsha for three months, and came to Wuhan after several twists and turns, but we didn't see you. Xiao Guifang is obedient and can help me do things. If you don't come back to see us in the future, I won't take her out, you know? It's not easy for me to take my daughter out! ”
There was a lot of sadness and regret in his wife's words, but there was also a hint of resentment, and Wang Erzhuo was deeply sorry and guilty. It turned out that after Zheng Fengcui rushed to Wuhan, she found the house rented by Wang Erzhuo according to the address in the letter, but she waited for a long time and never saw her husband's face. Where did she know that at this time, her second justice was fighting a battle in Nanchang that would go down in history.
Later, when Zheng Fengcui's disk fee was about to run out, she had to leave Wuhan with her daughter and go home. Before leaving, she left a letter and stuffed it through the crack in the door of the house where her husband rented.
It's a real creation. Just a few days after Zheng Fengcui left, Wang Erzhu returned to Wuhan. When he saw his wife's message, he was very sad. Husband and wife have been separated for more than three years, and the only chance to meet is missed! So he took up a pen and wrote a letter to his parents:
"Fengcui mother and daughter came to Han this time, and they did not meet a face, and they are deeply sorry. Children don't want to miss the reunion of flesh and blood, and children don't like the closeness of the family. But the red blood of the martyrs in Shanghai and Changsha ignited a fire, and the cries of orphans and widows on the mass burial site cut off the children's thousands of thoughts. In order to let thousands of mothers and children live a good life, so that the white-haired elderly can enjoy their lives, the child has decided to promise the country with his body! The revolution did not succeed and vowed not to return home. Fengcui's parents have both died, and I hope that the adults will treat their daughter-in-law kindly, and see Fengcui as if they saw her children..."
Then, Wang Erzhuo dried his tears, repacked, and began a new journey. In the following year, he accompanied Zhu De to lead the remnants of the Nanchang Uprising to participate in the Shonan Rebellion, and marched all the way to Jinggangshan to join Mao Zedong. Then, in order to create and defend the Jinggangshan revolutionary base area, he led the troops to fight in a bloody battle and made great achievements.
When Zheng Fengcui saw Wang Erzhuo's letter at home, she was also sighing. But she also regained her mood and continued to live in anticipation, tirelessly taking care of her in-laws and raising her daughter...
At that time, Zheng Fengcui was really tired, her in-laws were old, and she worked alone inside and out, and even had to work in the fields. Because Wang Erzhuo's eldest brother did not care about the family, after getting married and separated, he often did not come back. Seeing that his daughter-in-law was too tired, the father-in-law on the hospital bed asked Zheng Fengcui to find a long-term worker to help take care of the farm work. Zheng Fengcui flatly refused, she said that the second husband had confessed when he was leaving that he could not exploit the poor, and we would rather be desolate in the field than ask for long-term workers. So the mountains were no longer planted, and after Zheng Fengcui obtained the consent of her father-in-law, she sold some land to supplement her family.
In September 1928, when Zheng Fengcui, who was only 26 years old at the time, received news from her husband again, Wang Erzhuo had already sacrificed for the revolution. At that time, Wang Erzhu was killed by the traitor Yuan Chongquan at the age of 25. Zheng Fengcui was grief-stricken and almost collapsed. She was married to her husband for 5 years, but she only stayed together for 5 months, in fact, she only stayed together for 28 days, and the second husband had already gone to Huangquan! She really didn't want to live anymore.
Under the comfort of her in-laws, Zheng Fengcui stood up strongly. The husband sacrificed for the revolution, leaving the old in-laws, the young daughter, I don't care who cares? This former lady, Miss Qianjin, gritted her teeth and picked up the burden of life.
A few months later, in the spring of 1929, the in-laws died in the agony of losing their children. This made Zheng Fengcui very painful, and she finally cried out in front of the grave of the second elder: "Why is my life so bitter!" Since then, the family has left her and her young daughter to live together.
(3) The only daughter dies prematurely and then loses her son
In that era when women had no status, if a woman lost her husband and then lost her in-laws, it was a disaster. Because she will face the fate of being expelled.
After the death of Wang Erzhuo's parents, the people of the Wang family came to find trouble. They advised Zheng Fengcui: Take advantage of their youth, find a good man to remarry, have a son, and rely on it in the future!
Although Zheng Fengcui had sold a lot of land, he still had more than a dozen acres of land on hand, which was still rich in the countryside at that time.
In the face of the ill will of the clan, Zheng Fengcui is very determined, she is determined not to remarry, she cannot be sorry for her husband Wang Erzhuo, she vows to raise the blood of the Wang family!
But those Wang Clan people still came to pester. In the end, Zheng Fengcui had to come up with a killer skill. She brought the name of her cousin Zheng Dongguo to calm those people. Zheng Dongguo was Wang Erzhuo's former friend, and he thought that he was admitted to the Huangpu Phase I with Wang Erzhuo. Only later Zheng Dongguo chose to serve the nationalist army (he later became a famous patriotic general). At that time, Zheng Dongguo was already a senior officer of the Kuomintang. After all, she could not afford to be a soldier, and Zheng Fengcui's clan no longer pestered her.
In this way, Zheng Fengcui worked hard for more than ten years and finally raised her daughter Wang Guifang. But by 1945, the 43-year-old Zheng Fengcui had suffered another great blow. Her 20-year-old daughter Wang Guifang died of cholecystitis! The only comfort in this life, the only hope, after the loss of her husband's only bone and blood, Zheng Fengcui is liver and intestines! At this point, she really lost the idea of living.
However, in pain, Zheng Fengcui still stood up strongly. She didn't want to stop there in this life.
No, I have to let this line of the Wang family continue, or I will not be sorry for my second husband. So Zheng Fengcui found the patriarch of the Wang family and thought of inheriting a son to continue the incense for Wang Erzhuo. The following year, Zheng Fengcui succeeded Wang Erzhuo,15-year-old Wang Erzuo, the son of Wang Erzhuo's cousin Wang Ersheng, as his stepson, and held a ceremony to "establish a shrine".
Since then, Zheng Fengcui has regained her confidence in life, and she regards Wang Kuizuo as her own and carefully raises him to grow up. Wang Kuizuo is also very sensible, under the care of his stepmother, he grew up healthily, and later studied at Shimen Jiuli Middle School (the predecessor of the current Shimen No. 1 Middle School), and his results were very good.
After the founding of the People's Republic of China, the days finally stabilized, Wang Kuizuo also grew into a strong young man, and Zheng Fengcui was happy in his heart. However, misfortune came again. Zheng Fengcui's fate is almost as tragic as xu Fugui, the protagonist of Yu Hua's work "Alive", who lost her husband, in-laws, and daughters one after another, and then lost her son who had been hard to raise.
Later, the patriotic stepson Wang Kuizuo joined the army and became a pilot. In 1950, when the War to Resist US Aggression and Aid Korea broke out, Wang Kuizuo took his father Wang Erzhuo, who had never met him, as an example, and went to the battlefield to kill the enemy and make meritorious contributions. Zheng Fengcui really couldn't bear it, but for the sake of righteousness, she still let her son go to the battlefield. After entering the DPRK, Wang Kuizuo was selected as the first batch of air force pilots of the Volunteer Army. Unfortunately, however, in an air battle, Wang Kuizuo fought bravely and died heroically, at the age of 22. His life was shorter than that of his father, Wang Erzhuo. This made her mother Zheng Fengcui grief-stricken again...
At this time, Zheng Fengcui was already 50 years old, and she never expected that when she reached half a hundred years old, she would suffer again. However, her ordeal is still not over...
(iv) Send a handful of almonds to heaven
Both her husband and son sacrificed their lives to the state, which made Zheng Fengcui a martyr's will and received the care of the state. It is said that Zheng Fengcui should enjoy a few years of happiness after that. But it's not that simple.
Because Zheng Fengcui's family and in-laws were all landlords or large households before, her family was naturally affected during the land reform. For example, the confiscation of land, the classification of family members as landlords, etc., this is not much to say. But Zheng Fengcui was also discriminated against because of this, for example, she used to live by collecting land rent, which was a parasite. However, because Zheng Fengcui was a martyr's family, under the strong protection of the county magistrate, the blow she suffered was minimized, and she received a monthly pension of 40,000 yuan (old currency, 10,000 yuan equivalent to 1 yuan now) issued by the state.
However, Zheng Fengcui was also forced to move out of the old house and live in a broken tile house in a small mountain pass in Wang Eryu. It was remote, and there were even wild beasts in the mountain passes, and wild boars could be heard every night. One night, she went to a meeting and came across a wolf on the way. Thanks to the torch in her hand, she scared the wolf away.
She was old, alone, and her life was indeed pitiful. Later, with the support and approval of the local government, in 1955, the 53-year-old Zheng Fengcui remarried and came together with her uncle Wang Erkui, who was one year younger than her.
This was completely understandable at the time. However, in Zheng Fengcui's view, she violated her original intention and "betrayed" her lover Wang Erzhuo, and her heart was very uncomfortable. The night before marrying Wang Erkui, Zheng Fengcui sadly held Wang Erzhuo's portrait and cried all night. She said she was sorry for ergong, please forgive her...
Since Wang Erzhuo's sacrifice, Zheng Fengcui has been widowed for 27 years, and finally found an old wife and lived a relatively stable life. We can only bless Zheng Fengcui here!
After Zheng Fengcui remarried, she had a good relationship with Wang Erkui, and the two respected each other as guests and lived a very harmonious life. In particular, Wang Erkui's daughter-in-law Qin Dongyuan is also very good to Zheng Fengcui, the two love the same mother and daughter, living together for 34 years, there has been no unpleasantness between mother-in-law and daughter-in-law. Of course, Zheng Fengcui is also very fond of her husband's grandchildren, and also uses her own pension to pay for their tuition, buy new clothes, etc., and the family is happy and harmonious.
In the 1960s, Zheng Fengcui was again treated unfairly for historical reasons, but she still persevered. But she still did not escape the fate of "Xu Fugui", that historical storm just passed, in 1977, when Zheng Fengcui was 75 years old, her wife Wang Erkui also died before her. The old man Zheng Fengcui can be described as many hardships and hardships in this life. But she was not defeated by fate and lived tenaciously for another 11 years in the company of her stepchildren.
In the sixth month of the lunar calendar in 1988, the elderly Zheng Fengcui passed away at the age of 86. The old man was poor all his life and left nothing behind. While the family was counting her belongings, 60 almonds were found in a jewelry box.
That was Zheng Fengcui's memorial to her husband Wang Erzhuo, who had sacrificed 60 Spring and Autumn festivals as of that year! Wang Erzhuo liked to eat almonds before she was born, and Zheng Fengcui had never forgotten the habit of loving her lover, she had to save an almond for her husband every year, and she believed that her second husband would receive her gifts in heaven.
After the death of the elderly Zheng Fengcui, more than 1,000 people in the village, as well as more than 300 teachers and students of Guanqiao Primary School (now Wang Erzhuo Primary School), came to pay tribute to the old man. The township government's union is:

According to Zheng Fengcui's last wishes, the family buried her under the Qingsong Ridge in Anshan, where she and Wang Erzhuo often played when she was young, and the grave was facing the road that Wang Erzhu had walked when she left home to carry out the revolution.
