Hydrangeas have a long history in China and are traditional handicrafts in mainland China. Hydrangeas are balls made of textile products such as silk and floral cloth, and are called hydrangeas because of their bright colors, and are regarded as auspicious and festive.

The small hydrangea has a profound meaning, carries a rich traditional culture, and pins people's enthusiasm and yearning for a better life. It is not only a symbol of love, friendship and beauty, but also can be used as a children's toy, throwing around, at the same time, it is also a gift for friends and family.

Handmade hydrangea steps

///

Step 1: Make a template with cardboard pieces. The size is custom, as long as the size relationship between the two templates is guaranteed to be correct. The relative relationship between the two templates is shown in the following figure. Draw the same six round paper shells and twelve spindle-shaped paper shells with a template, cut them out, which is the amount needed to make a hydrangea ball.

Step 2: Glue the cardboard pieces to the cloth you like, cut them after the glue dries, and fold the round paper shell in half in a cross shape, and set aside.

The round paper shell finally forms the inner side of the hydrangea ball, and the spindle-shaped paper shell forms the outer surface of the hydrangea ball. Therefore, the cloth used for round paper shells is the best, and the cloth used for spindle-type paper shells can be a little more complicated.

Step 3: Stitch the folded disc in half with needle and thread from the middle to form two half-open cavities.

Step 4: Add a large part of the cotton to the cavity to fill the cavity. Use the spindle-shaped sheet as a lid, sew it on the cavity with needle and thread, and wrap the edge with colored strips on the way. (At this step, it should be noted that cotton is best filled more, so much that it can just be sewn down and pressed up and drummed.) Otherwise, it will have an unsightly impact on the subsequent steps. )

Step 5: Stitch 6 circles and 12 spindle-shaped pieces of paper in turn. Sutures are made between the two sides until a round ball is formed. (This step will be more difficult, because it takes force to tighten each combination unit, but it is still necessary to sew tightly and not loosely.) If the previous step is not filled enough, this step will flatten the hydrangea ball when exerting force. )
