There's equipment and there's technology, there's vision and depth
The first camera in the RED DSMC3 series, the V-RAPTOR "Velociraptor", was released last year, and in the product page of the official website, if you pull to the bottom, you can find a trailer for a new machine.
The model, called V-RAPTOR XL, has a larger size than the regular V-RAPTOR and is officially announced to be available in 2022. Just last week at the BSC Expo, the real V-RAPTOR XL made its debut.
From the perspective of body design, the V-RAPTOR XL differs from the modular design of the DMSC series, but is an integrated all-in-one camera, which should be a specialized model for the rental market, similar to the previous red Ranger. Its fuselage interface is extremely rich, the buttons are also very comprehensive, for the rental company, can better provide a full set of unified solutions, simplify the configuration process.
The V-RAPTOR XL is equipped with the same 8K-VV sensor as V-RAPTOR, with dimensions of 40.96mm×21.60mm and resolution of 8192×4320. In addition, the XL model has an ND filter built in and has a replaceable lens mount.
Does this appearance mean that the aircraft will be released soon? Next week's NAB Show could be a good time point. In terms of price, the V-RAPTOR XL will be about 40% more expensive than the V-RAPTOR bare metal.
The legendary movie machine only sells for this price, is it worth it?
