Some time ago, the 19th-century hardcore tactical shooter Hunt: Showdown was updated in the test suit. Among them, a quirky new weapon, the Romero 77 Alamo, attracts attention.
This is a variant of the Game's existing Romero Shotgun, but this Romero 77 Alamo turns the slowest shotgun in the game into the fastest. The Romero shotgun in Hunt: Showdown is very powerful, with a longer range than other shotguns in the game, but with the disadvantage of being only a single shot and a very slow loading speed. The Romero 77 Alamo clearly compensates for this shortcoming.
The new device, which greatly enhanced Romero, called the Alofs in reality, is probably the strangest shotgun device in human history.
Alofs appears to be the kind of technique that was common in early gun design, the kind of technique that was unusually clumsily bolted together. By screwing a tubular magazine attachment to the outside of the mid-fold shotgun, Alofs could transform a single-shot shotgun into a five-round capacity semi-automatic shotgun.
This mechanism is a bit like the complex mechanical internal structure of a pump-action shotgun, bolted to the outside of the gun. Weird but cool, it's perfect for The Hunt: Showdown's late 19th-century magic genre.
Back in 2020, antique gun enthusiasts uploaded videos of alofs devices and garnered millions of views. At that time, the Hunt: Showdown community took notice of the device and called on Crytek to add it to the game.
This isn't the first firearm in Hunt: Showdown to be enhanced with a new device, and the game now has a Mosin-Nagant rifle that can be modified to shoot fully automatically (although the device was developed for the Ross rifle in reality).
The Romero 77 Alamo isn't the only new weapon in the leak, and the Sparks LRR pistol has also appeared in the test suit, a handheld version of the game's high-powered Sparks rifle. In addition, the 1.9 update includes new weapon skins, new Legendary Hunters, and more.
