In the middle of summer, the fiery sun shines on the land of Xiji, the blue sky is floating with silky clouds, in the blue waves of the Hulu River, the clear river flows quietly, the ducks and birds flock, playing and soaring, the emerald green reeds swaying with the wind, the fragrance of flowers wafting for thousands of miles, and the beautiful pastoral picture can be seen.
The Hulu River originates from the southern slope of Moon Mountain in Xiji County, flows south through 9 townships such as Xinying, Jiqiang, Nihe, Jiangtai and Xinglong in the territory of Xiji, and winds through the seven gorges, through the Eight Rivers and NajiuShui, winding through the border, resembling a gourd, so it is called the Hulu River. The basin area is 2,079 square kilometers, and the length of the river is 120 kilometers, running through the north and south of Xiji County.
The ecological governance of Huluhe River is related to the economic and social development of Xiji County, and carries the expectations of a better life for the people. In recent years, Xiji County has carried out comprehensive improvement of the section from Xiazhai to Xiafan Village in the middle and lower reaches of the Hulu River through the use of engineering and biological measures, and has made every effort to fight the ecological defense war of blue sky, clear water, pure land and green mountains, and promoted the continuous improvement of the ecological environment.
The management of the Hulu River has played a great role in the protection of the ecological environment and the conservation of underground water sources. Today, the Hulu River flows down from the southern foothills of Moon Mountain, recreating the beauty of clear water, smooth rivers and green banks.
