The subpoena also requires all documentation of Musk's payments to Epstein or JPMorgan, including documents that reflect or involve Epstein's involvement in human trafficking and the purchase of girls or women.
The incident is related to Epstein's investigation into the sex trafficking of minors. The U.S. Virgin Islands accused JPMorgan Chase & Co. of providing financial services to Epstein's companies and assisting Epstein in concealing their crimes, knowing that they were engaged in illegal activities. In addition, the Virgin Islands sued the bank for sex trafficking involving Epstein, alleging that they "may have referred or attempted to recommend" Musk as a client.
While Musk is not accused of any wrongdoing in the subpoena, he may have been introduced to JPMorgan Chase Bank as CEO of Tesla and SpaceX, and one of the richest men in the world, as a client. The subpoena requires Musk to provide all correspondence and documents about Epstein, which also means he will be affected by the investigation. Musk has yet to respond to the incident.
Although Musk has not been accused of any wrongdoing, the incident has raised concerns about financial institutions and their customers. Especially after the outbreak of Epstein's child sexual abuse case, several companies and institutions were accused of having a relationship with him.
