Young people are promising, thirty and standing. For the ancients of more than 100 years, it is particularly worth celebrating.

On his 30th birthday, Lei Yue found someone to paint a small portrait, and framed the name of the zhai that his teacher Shen Han had inscribed for him a few years ago, "Tie Geng Zhai", and the painting with the theme of the book. In front of Zhu Yu, more than 20 people, including his friend Zhou Jiahua, successively painted "Iron Cultivation Zhai" as a congratulatory gift, and finally collected into two hand scrolls, which became the most elegant and solemn birthday gift for Lei Yue in the year when he entered and stood. This hand scroll also became the best witness of the art circle in Hunan at that time.

Lei Yue asked the teacher Shen Han to write the name of the zhai and the painting Qi Baishi created with the theme of "Iron Cultivation Zhai Tu" at that time, he had just completed the "five out of five returns", and was sorting out the long-distance travel drawings in the middle of Xiangtan Mountain, during which he went to Changsha to ask Wang Xiangqi to write an epitaph for his grandmother, and also gave himself the nickname "Ping Weng". When traveling back and forth between Xiangtan and Changsha, he had great friendships with the Lei brothers and Xia Shilan and others. Compared with his dormancy, Lei Yue and his brothers were much more famous in the Changsha calligraphy and painting circles at that time. In the late Qing Dynasty and the Republic of China, including the early ten years of the founding of the People's Republic of China, the "Three Heroes of the Lei Clan" were very influential in the calligraphy and painting circles in Changsha, referring to the three brothers Lei Kai, Lei Ke and Lei Yue. The three brothers studied calligraphy and painting seal carving with Shen Han, a famous calligrapher and painter in Changsha at that time, and became famous very early on, and made a wide range of friends, and Qi Baishi and the Lei brothers had a very strong friendship.

Their classmate, Xiao Junxian, who traveled many places after studying under Cangya and Shen Hanmen for many years, has been hired as a teacher of "brush painting" in the drawing handicraft department of Nanjing Liangjiang Excellent Normal School presided over by Li Ruiqing, becoming the first teacher in the late Qingxin school to teach Chinese painting.

A few years later, more Hunan artists joined the team of "out of the lake", Zeng Xi went to Shanghai, and Qi Baishi went north.

In 1915, Zeng Xi was invited by Li Ruiqing to Shanghai to list a book as a livelihood, and the Shuzong "Epitaph of Zhang Heinu" was known as "Southern Zengbei Li" with Li Ruiqing, and li Ruiqing, Shen Zengzhi, and Wu Changshuo were called "the four families of the First People".

In 1917, Qi Baishi moved to Beijing, from obscurity to fame, and never left until his death. In 1925, Mei Lanfang and Xu Beihong wrote a collection of Qi Baishi's paintings, praising him for "changing from craftsman to creating nature". In the same year, the Changsha calligrapher and painter Xia Shilan received two fan surfaces and a piece of calligraphy from Qi Baishi, and the fan inscription read affectionately: "Di Huang System".

"When it comes to Hunan painting from the late Qing Dynasty to the Republic of China, everyone will think of Qi Baishi, and many people can only think of Qi Baishi. Looking back at the past hundred years, around Qi Baishi, there are also a group of accomplished Hunan painters - Xiao Junxian, Chen Shaomei, Feng Usu, Cangya, Xia Shilan, Zhou Jiahua, Lei Kai, Lei Ke, Lei Yue, etc., who together with Qi Baishi, built the peak of Hunan painting in the late Qing Dynasty to the Republic of China. At the opening ceremony of the new exhibition, Li Lisong, deputy director of the Changsha Museum, said.

Wang Chen's "Lindong Yuan Xiaoxiang Tu" Scroll of ink and pencil on paper 33 cm vertical 339 cm horizontal 1795 Changsha Museum collection "Yanchi Qingquan" shows the influence of ancient painting art on Hunan painters in the late Qing Dynasty and the Republic of China. Opening this exhibition is Wang Chen's "Lindong Yuan Xiaoxiang Diagram". "Xiaoxiang" was originally a synonym for Hunan, and was poetically translated into a regional name in the Tang Dynasty. Since the fifth generation, "Xiaoxiang" has become a traditional subject of Chinese landscape painting art. The reason why this work has become a "first release", in addition to the subject matter, is also related to Wang Chen's status. Wang Chen (1720-1797) was the sixth grandson of Wang Shimin, the great-grandson of Wang Yuanqi, who inherited the family study of Shanshui and took the Yuan Sijia as his ancestor, and was deeply inspired by Dong Yuan and Huang Gongwang. He was an official in Yongzhou, Hunan Province for many years, and the paintings of Shen Han, Cang Ya, Xiao Junxian and others were deeply influenced by him. From the inscription of the work, it can be seen that Wang Chenxi made Xiaoxiangtu, which was composed at seventy-six hours, "And finally triumphantly made it." ”

In this exhibition, in addition to the painting "Iron Cultivation Zhai Tu" given to the disciple "Iron Cultivator Zhai Lord" Lei Yue, there is also a "Lushan Jingshe Tu" on display.

Curator Chen Liguo introduced that the first unit "Yanchi Qingquan" shows the influence of ancient painting art on Hunan painters in the late Qing Dynasty and the Republic of China, and selects 11 pieces/sets of classic works by famous artists such as Jinnong, Zheng Banqiao, Yun Nantian, Wang Chen, Shen Han and so on to show this source relationship.
