On April 4, 2015, China Post issued a set of 6 commemorative stamps entitled "Ancient Chinese Writers (IV)", with a face value of 7.20 yuan. The contents are: Tang Xianzu, Feng Menglong, Pu Songling, Hong Sheng, Kong Shangren, Cao Xueqin. Created by the famous painter Gao Yun, this set of stamps adopts the traditional Chinese brushwork technique, the lines are smooth and vigorous, and the picture is quaint and delicate. With his research and understanding of the image temperament of ancient literati, his rigorous and realistic attitude, and his fresh and handsome pen and ink, the author vividly and vividly displayed the images of the six Ming and Qing dynasty writers. The fifth stamp depicts the Qing Dynasty opera writer Kong Shangren, who wrote the legendary "Peach Blossom Fan" and "Little Sudden Thunder" by Kong Shangren (1648-1718). Hong Sheng and Kong Shangren are equally famous, and are known in history as "South Hongbei Kong".

This set of stamps is printed by Beijing Stamp Factory using the rubber engraving overprinting process. The engravers of the full set of 6 stamps are: Dong Qi, Li Hao, Yuan Yishan, Yu Xue, Xu Zhe and Liu Bo. The fifth Kong Shangren stamp was carefully carved by the engraver Xu Zhe. Today, we enjoy the stamp engraver's signature and stamp.

According to the data, Kong Shangren (1648~1718) was a famous opera composer and poet in the Qing Dynasty. Han Chinese, a native of Qufu, Shandong, and the 64th grandson of Confucius. The character Hiringzhi, also known as Ji Zhong, the number Dongtang, the other name shore hall, called himself Yunting Mountain people. In his early years, he was admitted to Xiucai, and later avoided chaos and studied with his father in the Shimen Mountains. Inheriting the Confucian ideological tradition and scholarship, he has paid attention to the knowledge of etiquette, music, soldiers, and agriculture since childhood, and has also studied the laws of music, laying a foundation of musical knowledge for future opera creation. In the twentieth year of the Kangxi Dynasty (1681), he donated the land to the son of the country. In the 22nd year of the Kangxi Dynasty (1683), he participated in the revision of the "Genealogy of the Kong Family" and the "Que Li Zhi", and trained lisheng and music and dance students, and supervised the construction of ritual music sacrifice instruments. Before the age of thirty-seven, he lived at home as a parent and a student. In 1684, Kangxi returned from a tour of the south to the north, and went to Qufu to worship Kong, and the 37-year-old Kong Shangren preached in front of the imperial court, which was greatly appreciated by Kangxi, and was awarded the title of Guozijian Doctor and went to Beijing to take up his post. At the age of thirty-nine, he was ordered to go to Jiangnan to control the water, which lasted for four years. In the twenty-ninth year of the Kangxi Dynasty (1690), he was transferred back to Beijing and successively served as a doctor of the State Zijian, the head of the household department, and the Guangdong Siwailang. In the thirty-eighth year of the Kangxi Dynasty (1699), at the age of 52, he finally wrote "Peach Blossom Fan". In March of the following year, after being deposed, he spent more than two years in Beijing, and then returned to his hometown to live in seclusion. In the fifty-seventh year of the Kangxi Dynasty (1718), this well-known generation of opera composers died at the age of 70 in the Home of Shimen in Qufu. His works also include the legend of "Little Lightning" co-authored with Gu Cai, and the poetry collections "Lake and Sea Collection", "Shore Hall Anthology", "Changliu Collection", etc., which have been passed down. The world equated him with Hong Sheng, the author of the Hall of Eternal Life, and called him "Nanhong Beikong".

The Gulou Branch of the Post Office of Qufu City, Shandong Province, where Kong Shangren was born, is the original post office of the place of birth, and the picture below is a real envelope sent from Qufu, Shandong Province, to Macao, China, with the seal signed by the engraver Xu Zhe.
