After nearly three years of construction, on December 18, the Hainan Island Tourist Highway, known as the "National Coastal No. 1 Scenic Road", was opened to traffic, which is also the largest domestic investment, the most scenic spots in series, and the longest mileage of the Island Ring Tourist Highway.
The main line of Hainan Island Tourist Highway is 988 kilometers long, including 453 kilometers of new and reconstructed sections, 535 kilometers of utilization sections, and 90 kilometers of new and reconstructed connecting lines, branch lines, fishbone lines, etc., running through 12 coastal cities and counties such as Haikou, Wenchang and Qionghai.
There are 70 viewing platforms and parking areas planned along the Hainan Ring Island Tourist Highway, and all 45 viewing platforms have been opened to tourists. Each observation deck has a small parking strip on the side of the road, and some parking areas also have charging spaces. In the whole line, a section with a direct view of the sea and a wide view is selected, and more than 60 kilometers of slow roads are set up for tourists to ride and stroll.
In the first phase, three post stations were opened, namely "Yingge Treading Waves", "Volcanic Coast" and "Dan'er Chasing Light", and the "Hainan Island Tourist Highway Self-driving Guide (Version 1.0)" was issued, and the "Top Ten Wonderful Tours" route products were launched, hoping to make it a "golden signboard" for Hainan tourism.
