On the morning of April 24, the Anxin County Federation of Trade Unions and the Party Committee of Duancun Town held a traditional fishing reed handicraft labor skills competition in Dadiantou Village, which was divided into 6 major items and 11 small items, such as weaving mats, covering mats, weaving baskets, weaving nets, sealing nets and picking nets.

The scene also carried out the reed craft painting production process, sewing the dragon, playing reed foil and other traditional skills demonstration, Baiyangdian traditional folk skills attracted the attention of many people, sincerely admired, and witnessed the thousands of "weaving" of fishing reeds.
Zhang Yaqing, Secretary of the Party Group and Executive Vice Chairman of the Anxin County Federation of Trade Unions, said that the fishing reed handicraft labor skills competition aims to implement the requirements of the Hebei Provincial Federation of Trade Unions and the Xiong'an New Area Federation of Trade Unions to carry out the "Skills and Labor Competition Year" activities, focusing on the traditional industries of Anxin County, cultivating fishing reed weaving craftsmen, carrying forward and inheriting the traditional culture and weaving skills of Baiyangdian, stimulating the labor enthusiasm and creative potential of the masses, and boosting rural revitalization.
Xin Guojun, Secretary of the Party Committee of Duancun Town, said that a lake of water, a lake of silver, an inch of reeds and an inch of gold. As a half-water and half-arid township, Duancun Town is half surrounded by reeds and Baiyangdian Lake. The water of Baiyangdian Lake nourishes the people of Duancun Village, and also creates a rich cultural heritage and historical accumulation of fishing reed weaving. The fishermen use their own wisdom and skillful hands to carry the regional culture of the water town, tell the story of Baiyangdian, and do a good job as the inheritor of craftsmanship and the disseminator of culture. At the same time, with the "transformation" of reed weaving into elegant works of art, it is becoming a new cultural industry and lighting up a new engine for cultural revitalization in Dian District. It is hoped that through this skills competition, we will guide and mobilize everyone to inherit the skills of fishing reed craftsmanship and further promote the innovation and development of the reed art straw weaving characteristic industry in Duancun Town.
