Optimal solutions for glass openings

In the face of the diversified needs of the glass processing market, Lightzhi Technology continues to innovate and upgrade, and has launched a 120W high-peak GT-Pro+ laser to provide a one-stop solution for glass processing.

The 120W high-peak GT-Pro+ laser adopts a self-developed optical amplification and electronic control scheme, which significantly improves the peak power while overcoming nonlinearity problems such as spectral broadening and Raman, and expands the output specifications and application range of nanosecond pulsed lasers.

The upgraded GT-Pro+ laser achieves near-diffraction-limited beam quality output through unique optical design and selected components. The optical path is deeply optimized, which significantly enhances the anti-reflection ability of the laser. The peak power of up to 200kW enables the nanosecond pulsed laser to process glass, which greatly reduces the cost of equipment and the barrier to entry for glass drilling applications that would otherwise require green light or ultrafast lasers.

Excellent drilling performance to meet the needs of different customers

The F-120-GT-10-N2-Pro+ pulsed fiber laser used in this test has an average power of 120W, a peak value of up to 270kW, a maximum single pulse energy of 1mJ, an adjustable pulse width of 2~20ns, and a 10mm spot output. The 2D 14mm clear galvanometer can be directly connected to the laser output, and the test can be completed with the motorized Z-axis. Depending on the opening size, field lenses with different focal lengths can be selected for testing to achieve the best results.

Conventional glass (float glass)

Float glass is a kind of flat glass produced by float process, which has the characteristics of high flatness, uniform thickness and good optical properties, and is widely used in architecture, home furnishing, decoration and other fields. There are many needs for opening holes in float glass, such as glass doors, windows, lighting, switch panels, etc., and it is difficult to complete large or small or special-shaped holes by conventional methods, and the glass will be broken if you are not careful, and the use of laser has become very simple.

We tested the aperture of different sizes on the float glass with a thickness of 1-19mm, and found that the laser parameters of different aperture are basically the same, and the aperture only needs to be modified. After testing, it is recommended to use F100 field mirror for holes within 70mm, F160 field mirror for 70-100mm holes, and F210 field mirror for 100-150mm holes.

GT-Pro+ laser can not only punch round holes on conventional glass, but also punch waist-shaped holes, special-shaped holes, square holes, etc., but because there is no power speed function on the current control, it cannot realize right-angle and acute angle cutting.

Photovoltaic glass (ultra-white embossed glass)

Photovoltaic glass is a kind of silicate glass with low iron content, also known as ultra-white embossed glass, the raw materials are mainly soda ash and quartz sand, with low iron content, high light transmittance and low reflectivity. As an important part of the solar module, the backsheet photovoltaic glass needs to be perforated at a specific position to lead the current wire of the photovoltaic cell module to the junction box.

One side of the photovoltaic glass is flat and transparent, and the other side has a pattern that is difficult to transmit light. When we tested, the pattern surface was placed below, the plane was upward, and the laser was transmitted from the plane incidence to the pattern surface below and began to cut upwards layer by layer. After testing, the use frequency is 150kHz, the power is 90%, the speed is 4000mm/s, the spiral line width is 0.6mm, the line spacing is 0.08mm, it only takes 2.5 seconds to punch a 12mm hole, and the hole wall is smooth and the edge < 300μm.

High borosilicate glass

High borosilicate glass has a very low coefficient of thermal expansion, only about one-third of ordinary glass, good high temperature resistance, high physical strength, can be made into tableware, teacups, utensils and other items, need to open holes in the top to use. Laser drilling is ideal for drilling borosilicate glass because of its non-contact processing, no stress residue after opening, fast efficiency and high yield.

This time, the perforation test was carried out on the side wall and bottom of the borosilicate glass of different colors, which can be completed quickly, with fast efficiency, clean inner wall of the hole without dust residue, and smaller chipping than conventional glass.

brief summary

The 120W high-peak GT-Pro+ laser has high peak value and good beam quality, which can be used for drilling a variety of glass materials such as float glass, photovoltaic glass, borosilicate glass, etc., with a glass thickness of up to 19mm, a glass aperture of 0.3~150mm, and a flexible graphic design, small processing aperture taper, clean inner wall of the hole, low glass damage, high precision and high efficiency. In the highly competitive glass processing market, Lightzhi Technology will continue to upgrade its products to provide more choices for the majority of users.
