At Computex 2024, Intel detailed the upcoming Lunar Lake series of products and showcased the infrastructure for the next generation of Intel Arc GPUs, codenamed Battlemage, Xe2. In addition, Intel has also brought an easy-to-use AI PC onboarding application, AI Playground, which allows users to quickly realize AI personalized creation locally.

Intel's Xe2 architecture will be used in Lunar Lake CPUs and the next generation of Intel Arc discrete graphics (codenamed Battlemage) product line. The next-generation Intel Xe2 GPU architecture delivers a 50% performance boost with new ray tracing units and VVC support.

The Xe2 architecture improves utilization, optimizes work distribution, and reduces software overhead. Like the Xe architecture, the Xe2 architecture is highly scalable, allowing it to be integrated into low-power mobile SOCs such as Lunar Lake, as well as the next generation of Arc discrete graphics cards.

AI Playground, based on Intel Arc ™ graphics, makes AI creation easy

Intel unveiled and demoed AI Playground, an easy-to-use application for getting started with AI PCs that allows Intel Arc graphics users to easily create, edit, and have AI conversations locally, without the need for an internet connection. This feature is supported on a PC with an Intel Core Ultra processor built in Intel Arc graphics or an Intel Arc discrete graphics card with 8GB or more of vRAM memory.

The AI Playground is expected to go live this summer and become a free download, optimized to harness the Intel Xe Cores in Intel Arc graphics and the XMX engine designed for AI. In addition, the AI Playground is easy to use, so you don't need to learn AI in depth to get started.

Easy to deploy: When you install AI Playground, you can install it just like any other Windows application, without the need for additional commands and scripts.

Create: Select type and click the button to easily create an image without complicated terminology or a slider interface. In the AI Playground, you can switch between resolution and quality modes with a simple one-click operation and enjoy the convenience of automatic configuration. In addition, you can set up a manual mode to further adjust the image diffusion settings, just like you would with other AI webUI tools, for personalized creative needs.

Enhancement: Use AI to upscale, repair, fill, expand, or recreate images. Whether it's AI-generated images, or personal favorites, AI Playgrounds can give your visuals a new lease of life if you get creative.
