The new generation X3, codenamed G45, has a new look with a sportier and more aggressive look with a sportier and more aggressive look than its predecessor (G01) at 4.755 metres in length, 29 mm in width and 25 mm in height to 1.66 metres.

The track, which has a greater impact on the dynamics, has also been adjusted: the front track has been increased by 16 mm and the rear track by a full 45 mm, but the wheelbase has hardly changed, from 2864 to 2865 mm. Wheels range in size from 18-inch (low-spec variant) to 22-inch (X3 M50 flagship model), with the M50 six-cylinder model benchmarking the M40 from its predecessor.

The G45's kidney grille is finally shining as well, and the exterior is a reference to the XM, which has been selling very poorly, especially the side and rear contours.

The X3 30 xDrive four-cylinder model has 255 hp @ 400 Nm of torque, weighs nearly 1.9 tonnes (4,176 lbs) and achieves a 0-100 time of about 6 seconds, while the X3 M50 six-cylinder model has 393 hp @ 580 Nm of torque and a 0-100 time of 4.4 seconds, and both the four- and six-cylinder engines have built-in 48-volt mild hybrids.

The plug-in hybrid model X3 30e xDrive has a combined power of 295 horsepower, a time of 6.2 seconds, and a built-in 20-degree battery, which is almost double the capacity of the previous plug-in hybrid (10.8-degree battery), so the pure electric range has been increased from 50 km to 90 km.

The G45 X3 is scheduled to be launched in Europe and the United States in the fourth quarter of this year, with deliveries in other regions as early as January next year. The next-generation pure electric iX3 will bid farewell to the CLAR hybrid platform and take the lead in introducing the Neue Klasse BMW next-generation platform, and use BMW's sixth-generation power battery, which increases energy density by 20%, and increases cruising range and charging speed by 30%.
