This is a question asked by Ge Min after suffering from ALS.
Ge Min has been a child of other people's families since he was a child, practiced dance at the age of 6, was admitted to the Shanghai Dance Academy at the age of 12, and completed the bachelor's and master's studies at the age of 22.
I thought that life would go on smoothly like this, but the accident came unexpectedly.
When Ge Min was 34 years old, he was suddenly diagnosed with ALS, and since then Ge Min has lived a life of racing against time.
But fate did not let her go, she suddenly suffered from a serious illness, lost her job, was abandoned by her husband, and everything fell on Ge Min and her father in an instant.
Perhaps because he couldn't bear it, Ge Min also wanted to try suicide.
It is precisely because of this incident that Ge Min's 76-year-old father, who should have been living for a long time, did not dare to grow old, so he could only grit his teeth and persevere.
Ge Min 34 suffers from ALS
In September 2016, dancer Ge Min had an uncomfortable throat because of a cold, and he didn't get well for a long time, so he went to a big hospital for treatment and examination, thinking it was just a common cold, but Ge Min didn't take it to heart.
However, the results of the examination found out that Ge Min was suffering from an extremely rare form of ALS, and a piece of news completely turned Ge Min's life upside down like a thunderbolt from the sky.
It is important to know that the prevalence of ALS in the country is about 4 per 100,000 to 6 per 100,000, known as "one of the five major terminal diseases in the world", and the survival time of this rare disease is only 3-5 years.
But unfortunately it is very unlikely that it will happen to a 34-year-old girl, but part of the luck is that the girl is still alive and well after eight years.
And in this girl's video account, I always see her always smiling at the corners of her mouth, and her seemingly simple facial expressions are one of the few muscle movements that ALS patients can complete independently, perhaps this is also her courage to face the world.
A dancing girl with a starry journey
In 1981, Ge Min was born in Nantong, Jiangsu, and she started her dance career at the age of 6.
Dancing throughout the first half of Ge Min's life, she has never stopped from childhood to adulthood, and she can dance ballet, folk dance, modern dance and other dance genres.
And in 1992, through her efforts, she was successfully admitted to the Shanghai Dance School.

Because Ge Min performed well in school and won the third prize of the Taoli Cup, he was assigned to the song and dance troupe and served as the main dancer for five years after graduation.
This is the happiest 5 years of Ge Min's life, and she stands on the stage to show herself wantonly.
Until 2003, Ge Min applied for a master's degree in the Department of Folk Dance of Beijing Dance, and graduated successfully in 2010.
At the same time, she also ushered in her own love, and after marriage, Ge Min had a son with her husband.
After graduating, Ge Min became a physical fitness teacher at the school, teaching children how to dance.
By 2012, she had been able to independently open a children's dance training class, ushering in the spring of her career.
However, God seemed to play a joke on her, at the peak of her career, a sudden cold changed her life and started the journey of "taking her life" with Hades.

Originally, Ge Min was suffering from ALS and was forced to make her give up dancing, which caused her a lot of blows.
However, her husband's departure after her diagnosis made her even more painful.
Since Ge Min was diagnosed with ALS, she has completely lost the ability to live independently in a very short period of time, and her father is responsible for almost all of her food, drink, and Lazar.
Even speaking became a problem for her, and it took a lot of effort.
The first year of Ge Min's illness was also the most painful year for her, she was terminally ill and abandoned by her husband, Ge Min washed her face with tears every day, and could only confide in her friends with her mobile phone, and she needed sleeping pills to sleep.
She felt miserable every day and even thought about suicide.
Fortunately, Ge Min has a good friend in the United States, who keeps in touch with her online 24 hours a day, listens to Ge Min's various confidings every day, and insists on contacting for up to eight months, so that Ge Min can slowly get out of the pain, so that Ge Min finally figured out, "Self-help can help".
So she decided to pull herself together and do something meaningful.
In 2017, Ge Min and patient Chen Jun jointly founded the public welfare public account - Bingyuge and One Meter Sunshine Group, in which everyone shared their experience and experience of "anti-freezing", shared their lives, encouraged each other, and started public welfare fundraising for patients.
Ge Min hopes that in the remaining time, she can do her best to solve the difficulties of patients and their families.
At Bingyuge, patients can vent their emotions, record their daily routines and share their "anti-freeze" experiences.
Some patients said: I am weak all over, my body can't move, and even if I want to shout out to vent, I am deprived by the disease, but there are always people who love me!
No matter what the situation, you can always find people who are in the same condition as you in the Ice Pavilion, they snuggle up to each other and confide in each other, and the Ice Pavilion seems to be a glimmer of light in their darkness.
Ge Min saw that there were more and more people and content speaking out in the Ice Whispering Pavilion, and she came up with an idea.
Why not make this content available to more people?
So, she integrated all the content in the group into a book, and the title of the book is "Because of Love, So Persistence"!
What's even more surprising is that the printing and publishing of this book were all completed by her.
You must know that her limbs at that time were unable to move, her mouth couldn't speak, and the only thing she could move was her eyes, so isn't writing articles more difficult for her than climbing to the sky?
Ge Min never gave up as long as she wanted to do something, she was such a resolute girl. With only one eye tracker, the computer can only type about 10 words a minute by capturing the movement trajectory of the eyeballs through the eye tracker.
It is hard to imagine that she actually typed more than 200,000 words of articles with her eyes and published three books.
The first two articles published from 2019 to 2022 were edited into articles from the patients in the Ice Pavilion, and "Love is a Cycle" published in 2023 was written entirely by individuals.
Until now 8 years, Ge Min has not only broken the 3-5 year survival period for ALS, but also has been encouraging patients in her own way, and the most important thing is to live actively.
Active life ALS girl
Ge Min used his practical actions to prove that even if he is terminally ill, he can live as well as a healthy person without hands and feet, as long as you want.
Even if she can't move, she will try to do manicures, beauty and hair, and she tries to live like a normal person, but people who are healthy cannot understand the pain of ALS.
Ge Min was once interviewed by "Global People", and was asked what it was like to have ALS, and Ge Min sent such a paragraph to the reporter.
It's like if you've been bitten by a mosquito and your body is very itchy, but your limbs can't move, and people don't know that you're uncomfortable or that part of your body is itchy and needs to be scratched, and you want to tell them but can't speak.
A normal person can't understand the pain of "ALS patients", but Ge Min's words make everyone who hears them feel the helplessness of the sick person.
Now Ge Min is 42 years old, and her father is 76, and she has been dependent on her father to take care of her for 8 years, and the two depend on each other.
Ge Min's only regret is that no one will be able to support her father in the future, and her father will take care of her day and night.
But who cares about being a father, he just hopes that his daughter can live well, what he is most afraid of is that he will come more and more, and no one will take care of his daughter.
