【January-May 2024 Pure Electric Mini Vehicle Sales Ranking】With the launch of more new energy small vehicles, the sales of pure electric mini vehicles in the domestic market, which are mainly short-distance transportation, have declined this year. According to the data of the Comprehensive Passenger Association, the retail sales of the domestic pure electric mini vehicle market from January to May 2024 were 223,000 units, a year-on-year decrease of 9.2%, and the sales volume decreased by 23,000 units.
Specifically, there are only two models of pure electric mini vehicles with cumulative sales of more than 50,000 units from January to May this year (with an average monthly sales of more than 10,000 units). Wuling Hongguang MINIEV is still the champion of mini car sales, with a cumulative sales of 73,101 units from January to May, a year-on-year decrease of 32.5%, and a decrease of 35,173 units. The decline in sales of Hongguang MINIEV is not only related to the decline in the market demand for mini vehicles, but also related to the hot sales of its main competitors Changan Lumin and Geely Panda.
Changan Lumin ranked second, with cumulative retail sales of 51,440 units from January to May this year, a year-on-year increase of 28.1%, and sales increased by 11,273 units. The Changan Lumin is available in 155 km, 205 km, 210 km and 301 km ranges, with a starting price of CNY 37,900.
Geely Panda sold more than 40,000 vehicles, with a cumulative sales of 40,337 units from January to May this year, ranking third, a year-on-year increase of 15.1%. Geely Panda Space is similar to Hongguang MINIEV, offering 120km and 200km range models to choose from, with a guide price starting at 29,900 yuan.
Last year's sluggish sales of Leap T03, retail sales from January to May this year reached 16,859 units, ranking fourth, with sales soaring 128.7%, which was unexpected. Different from its competitors, the Leap T03 adopts a 5-door and 4-seat design, which is larger than Wuling Hongguang MINIEV and other models in terms of space, with a price of 49,900 yuan for the 2024 model and a comprehensive cruising range of 200-403km.
The sales of the two mini cars from Chery New Energy were not as good as the same period last year, of which the cumulative sales of QQ ice cream were 14,651 units, ranking fifth, a year-on-year decrease of 24.6%; Chery Little Ant's retail sales were only 7,709 units, ranking sixth, down 13.4% year-on-year. The price of Chery Little Ant is not low, and in the case of BYD Seagull's hot sale, the competitiveness of Little Ant is getting lower and lower.
JMC Kirin and Lingbao BOX both sold more than 3,000 units, ranking seventh and eighth with sales of 3,758 and 3,024 respectively from January to May this year.
The monthly sales of Kaiyi, which was launched at the end of last year, were not large, with a cumulative sales of only 2,592 units from January to May, ranking only ninth. Kaiyi Shiyue is a three-door four-seat micro pure electric vehicle, based on the i-EA pure electric platform, with a maximum pure electric range of 301km, a guide price of 53,900-69,900 yuan, and a length, width and height of 3360/1700/1600mm, and a wheelbase of 2160mm.
In May this year, the galloping pony was launched, and a total of 1,277 new cars were sold, temporarily ranking 12th. The Pentium Pony has launched a total of 3 models, priced at 26,900-31,900 yuan, with a cruising range of 122-170km, which is the cheapest pure electric mini car currently on sale. The length, width and height of the galloping pony are 3000/1510/1630mm, and the wheelbase is 1953mm, which is comparable to models such as Wuling Hongguang MINIEV. Although the price is low, the configuration of the galloping pony is not "beggar", and more than 20,000 models are equipped with airbags and air conditioning, and the cost performance is very good.
Cumulative sales of more than 1,000 units from January to May this year include three models: the Wuling Air EV, the Fengguang MINI EV, and the Lingbao Uni.
