On Tuesday night, England drew 0-0 with Slovenia to secure their place in Group C.

It was another frustrating performance for Gareth Southgate's side, who improved some but still fell far short of expectations, but Denmark's 0-0 draw with Serbia ensured they qualified as group winners.

How the game unfolded

Benjamin Sesko got the chance of the game in the first half when the RB Leipzig striker delivered a gentle header to Jordan Pickford in the opening five minutes.

England's start was not exciting, and they even had to wait until the 20th minute to have their first shot on goal. However, the effort did result in Bukayo Saka hitting the ball behind the net, but the offside mark rightly ruled the ball out.

England's first official shot on goal came half an hour later. Harry Kane's shot was blocked, and then the Three Lions' first long-range shot was comfortably cleared by Jan Oblak at the Slovenian net.

Kieran Trippier's cross looked destined to lead to the opener, but Conor Gallagher's head failed to reach and Kane's outstretched boot couldn't lead the ball towards goal as England levelled the scores at half-time.
