On June 13, the 2024 Undergraduate Graduation Ceremony and Graduation Design Exhibition of the National School of Outstanding Engineers of Chongqing University was held at the Liangjiang Campus of Chongqing University. The class of 2024 includes 28 students in the first Mingyue Science and Technology Innovation Experimental Class (hereinafter referred to as the "Mingyue Class") and 124 students in the Outstanding Engineer Class (hereinafter referred to as the "Excellence Class").

Li Cheng, a graduate of the first Mingyue Science and Technology Innovation Experimental Class of Chongqing University, learned about the difficulties of blind people in "reading" by chance, so he used what he learned to form a team and innovate and invent "Braille e-books".
Now, the "Braille e-book", which has undergone many updates and iterations, has also appeared in the graduation exhibition. This is not only Li Cheng's entrepreneurial project during college, but also his graduation project.
This piece weighs about 300 grams and looks like a power bank product. This version of the Braille eBook is smaller, lighter, and easier to read. "It can not only help blind friends read massive e-books, but also has an input function, which can realize voice interaction and help blind people take notes while reading." Li Cheng introduced that the latest product is currently being developed in the laboratory and will be unveiled at the end of this month, and the finished product is expected to be launched to the market at the end of September this year.
Now, through this invention, the technology company founded by Li Cheng has signed an angel round financing agreement of 3 million yuan, and the registered company is valued at 20 million yuan.
"Next, I will study at Chongqing University for graduate school and promote the promotion of the project." Li Cheng said.

Ice cubes are one of the most used things in the beverage industry. How to make crystal clear ice cubes, the "Origin Future" team of the Mingyue Science and Technology Innovation Class of Chongqing University started to do the intelligent ice machine project two years ago. The team hopes to make an ice machine that can be more integrated into family life, with a slower melting speed and faster ice-making efficiency.
It's easy to make ice cubes, but it's difficult to make transparent ice cubes. "Ordinary ice cubes, which look white and are not transparent." Liu Zhenyu, a graduate of the first Mingyue Science and Technology Innovation Experimental Class of Chongqing University and the leader of the ice machine project, explained that most conventional ice cubes are gradually solidified from the inside out from the outside, so that the air dissolved in the water "runs" to the center of the ice cube and is finally frozen in the middle. If there are too many tiny bubbles, the ice will eventually appear white.

"The essence of bubbles is caused by the speed of ice crystals at the junction of ice and water is greater than the escape rate of dissolved bubbles in water, we solve the problem of impurities in water on the one hand, and overcome the problem of cracks between ice and water on the other hand, after more than 600 experimental tests, we have developed this ice machine." Liu Zhenyu introduced that the ice machine can achieve 1 hour of transparent ice, while the traditional transparent ice takes 8 hours or more.
In September last year, the project received an angel round investment of 3 million yuan. The registered Origin Future Innovation Technology Company is valued at nearly 30 million. "Next, I will continue to promote the ice machine project while studying for graduate school at Chongqing University." Liu Zhenyu introduced that the product is expected to be mass-produced and launched to the market next year.

The Excellence Class is for science and engineering majors in Chongqing University and more than 10 colleges and universities in Chongqing, using the 3+1 model to select the third year from various universities in Chongqing to enter the engineering college to complete a one-year project-based course study and graduation design, and since 2023, it has completed the training of more than 300 outstanding graduates in two batches.
It is reported that the class of 2024 has formed more than 100 graduation design topics from outstanding innovative enterprises such as China Automotive Research Institute, Changan Automobile, Horizon, Cidi Intelligent Driving, Gugao Robot, Li Qun Automation, and Oka Zhibo. At the graduation design exhibition, the participating students combined the posters, physical prototypes and simulation models of their works to explain and demonstrate the application prospects, research ideas and research results of their graduation design results.
