After driving 60 kilometers at high speed with anxiety, I realized that ECO can really save fuel, and I don't know how to use it wrong

Hello everyone, I'm Xiao Li. ECO mode manufacturers advertise that it can reduce fuel consumption by about 5% to 15%, but few people have tested whether it can really save fuel in the process of using it, so everyone is skeptical about whether the ECO function can save fuel. That is, during the Dragon Boat Festival, I rushed to the highway without refueling due to the fact that the fuel tank was almost out of fuel due to hurry, and I ran 60 kilometers at high speed with endurance anxiety before I knew that the original ECO mode can indeed save fuel, and today I will share with you my car process.

There are 2 ways to open ECO mode in the car, one is turned on by default, and the other is manually turned on by ourselves. Now these automatic transmission models generally have this mode, and in the process of using it, as long as it is in the state of ECO mode, the car will be weaker to drive. Usually if you kick the accelerator and dry down, the engine may run to 2500 rpm, the gearbox changes gears in time, and the speed will go up when we drive. But when you turn on ECO mode, you just kick the throttle and the engine idles straight away, and you need to tap the throttle to avoid this engine idling state. At this time, you will find that the engine speed is changed at 2000 rpm, and because the speed is relatively low, it is no wonder that the power is not good.

The logic of ECO is like this, it uses the principle that the lower the speed, the more fuel-efficient, so that the engine speed is always kept in a relatively low state, to achieve the purpose of fuel saving. So we can really save fuel by turning on the ECO mode, which was confirmed by the 60 km high speed I ran with a tank that was running out of fuel that day.

Usually when I drive at high speed, under normal circumstances, the battery life shown on the table is about 1 to 1 with the actual mileage, but when I am on the highway that day, the battery life shown on the table is only more than 70 kilometers, and theoretically I can run 60 kilometers of high speed, but it will be very overhanging, in case of traffic jam, it will be over, so in order to save fuel as much as possible, I turned on the ECO mode for the first time on this second-hand car. After turning on the ECO mode, if the car wants to go up to 120, I have to step on the accelerator for a long time, because I don't have any gas, I simply drive at 110 in the rightmost lane. When I finished running the section of Hubei Expressway from my hometown to the county seat, I found that it was stable and had enough fuel to get to the county seat.

Because in ECO mode, my battery life is no longer 1 to 1, but has become 1 to 3, in which I excluded the interference of slower speed, and it also has a value of 1 to 2, which is enough to show that in the state of ECO mode, it can indeed reduce fuel consumption, at least 5%. Two days ago, when I went to the city, I ran a high-speed test again, and found that even if I ran at a speed of 120 kilometers, I could indeed save fuel when I turned on the ECO mode. Because my range drops more slowly. I have driven this car for more than 20,000 kilometers, and I know very well about the battery life of the display, and using ECO mode can really save fuel.

However, after using ECO mode, I feel that the throttle is more sluggish, and sometimes if the foot feels bad, it may consume more fuel. For example, when we need to accelerate sharply, it is very easy to cause the engine to idle in ECO mode, which is really burning oil, but it is not used to accelerate, and it is a proper waste of oil. If you don't understand it while driving, this situation occurs frequently, not only does it not save fuel, but it costs more fuel.

The above is a personal opinion on whether the ECO model can save fuel, and I hope my experience can help you.
