Lenovo officially released the Lenovo Morningstar Metaverse Platform, a software platform independently developed by Lenovo Research Institute Shanghai Branch

On June 26, at the 2024 Shanghai MWC conference, Lenovo officially released the software platform independently developed by the Shanghai branch of Lenovo Research Institute - Lenovo Morningstar Metaverse Platform (Daystar World). The release of this platform product is another major breakthrough for Lenovo in the field of the metaverse, demonstrating its leading position in artificial intelligence and virtual reality fusion technology.

Lenovo Morningstar Metaverse Platform is a metaverse content and business building platform based on cutting-edge technologies such as computer vision and generative artificial intelligence (AIGC). Through the joint research of industry, academia and research, Lenovo Morningstar Metaverse platform has broken through industry problems such as high-fidelity 3D reconstruction of the physical world, three-dimensional digital base plate construction, simulation prediction, virtual and real interaction and linkage, and created the first domestic software and hardware integrated metaverse platform with multi-core capabilities.

According to reports, the metaverse platform can be dragged and dropped to build a fast low-code metaverse space, and can also be linked with self-developed equipment (Lenovo Morningstar XR glasses, robots, smart cameras, etc.) to form an end-to-end solution delivery to realize a series of functions such as robot deployment simulation, XR content orchestration, AI detection, and digital twins.

At the press conference, the staff demonstrated the powerful functions of the platform, through the simple operation interface, users can quickly build complex virtual scenes and interact with physical devices.

For customers with digital twin needs, 3D models take a long time to make and are expensive, which is also a major threshold for the development of metaverse applications. In response to this problem, Lenovo Morningstar Metaverse platform is based on AIGC technology to achieve low-cost, high-fidelity 3D reconstruction. By quickly digitally building the physical environment and using multi-source heterogeneous data to realize the unified invocation of different devices and application scenarios, the problem of high cost and single function of the metaverse is solved. At the exhibition site, Lenovo demonstrated that the platform can quickly model the display area, set up working points and algorithms in the twin model, and link Lenovo Morningstar foot robot GS to simulate and perform inspection tasks. As long as the explainer issues the path in the system, the robot will execute the task according to the preset route and send back the collected data in real time, and the running track of the robot can also be seen in the twin at the same time.

The AIGC-based 3D reconstruction, virtual and real linkage with equipment, inspection data return and intelligent analysis capabilities demonstrated in this demo have been successfully applied to multiple robot intelligent inspection projects of the two power grids, greatly reducing the time and manpower investment in deployment.
