More than 500 guests and representatives from home and abroad gathered in Tianshui City, Gansu Province, the hometown of Emperor Xi, to worship Fuxi, the ancestor of Chinese humanities.
Fuxi is the "first of the three emperors" and "the first of the hundred kings". Legend has it that Fuxi opened the sky with a painting, enlightened civilization, founded Bagua, and taught people to fish, hunt and domesticate. From ancient times to the present, whether it is official or folk, the tradition of sacrificing Fuxi and respecting Fuxi culture has continued.
Accompanied by the solemn sound of drums, the dancers held props containing Fuxi culture such as gossip drums and guqins, and showed Fuxi's exploits through dance. "Ancestor worship is the spiritual gene of the Chinese nation to reproduce and inherit and maintain its vigorous vitality. The Chinese civilization and its spiritual wealth, which were laid by the Fuxi culture, still nourish the Chinese culture and national spirit to this day. Ren Milin, a researcher at the Institute of Philosophy of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, said.
After the music and dance, representatives from all walks of life slowly walked into the Fuxi Temple. In the Xiantian Hall, the main building of Fuxi Temple, the nearly three-meter-high Fuxi clay sculpture painted statue holds the innate gossip plate, which is majestic and simple. Participants lay flower baskets, bow and pay homage to the icons.
