At present, the competition in the domestic auto market is becoming increasingly fierce, and major brands have accelerated the pace of launching new cars in order to seize the market. As a world-class car company, Volkswagen is naturally not idle. Recently, Volkswagen released a new Volkswagen Jetta in the United States, that is, the same FAW-Volkswagen Sutar in China, the new car is optimized and upgraded for the interior and exterior design, the starting price is 22,000 US dollars, currently about 160,000 yuan, the new car is expected to be officially launched in North America in the third quarter of this year. It is also reported that the new generation of FAW-Volkswagen Sutar has now rolled off the assembly line and is expected to go on sale within this year.
The new Volkswagen Jetta is available in two variants, the Jetta and the Performance Edition, with slight differences in detail. Specifically, the new model adopts the brand's new design language, in which the front face part is more obvious, and the size of the grille between the headlight clusters is further reduced, and it is highly integrated with the headlights. A slim LED daytime running light strip is integrated under the grille, effectively extending the horizontal visual effect of the front face.
The front bumper of the new car has also undergone significant changes, making it sportier than the current model, with the regular version being filled with a dot-matrix blacked-out trim and a silver trim underneath to further enhance its layering. The lower bracket of the Performance Edition has been replaced with a honeycomb trim padding and a red trim trim. In addition, the Performance Edition is equipped with the GLI logo on the inside of the front grille, reflecting its unique identity.
The side changes to the new Volkswagen Jetta are not obvious, mainly to offer several new wheel styles.
At the rear, the popular continuous tail light cluster is replaced, and the light source is expected to be fully LED. In addition, the regular version has chrome exhaust vents at the rear bumper, while the performance version has a double-sided double hole exhaust pipes for a sportier atmosphere.
Compared to the exterior, the interior design of the new Volkswagen Jetta did not bring us too many surprises, the overall interior layout is roughly the same as the current model, the main change is the size of the central display screen, and the new car is expected to add ChatGPT voice assistant function.
In terms of power, the regular version of the new Volkswagen Jetta will be powered by a 1.5T engine with a maximum output of 118 kW and a peak torque of 249 Nm. In addition, the performance version will be equipped with a 2.0-liter turbocharged engine with a maximum output of 170 kW and a peak torque of 350 Nm. Depending on the configuration, the powertrain will be available with a 6-speed manual transmission or a 7-speed manual transmission.
