In the afternoon, Nantong Maritime issued the "Notice on the Collision of Ships in the Nantong Section of the Yangtze River":
At around 12:50 on June 28, 2024, the Nanjing-registered ship "Quanqiang 528" collided with the Qingdao-registered general cargo ship "Qingfeng 98" sailing in the same direction during the voyage in the Nantong section of the Yangtze River, causing the "Qingfeng 98" ship to sink and all 6 people on board to fall overboard.

So far, 4 people who fell into the water have been rescued and sent to the hospital for treatment, and the remaining 2 people who fell into the water are being searched with all their might. After on-site verification, no water pollution has been caused, and there is no impact on the navigation safety of ships in the Nantong section of the Yangtze River. The cause of the accident is under investigation.
