As a potential player in the next generation of battery technology, solid-state batteries have attracted much attention in the industry due to their advantages of high safety, long life and high energy density.

In recent years, relying on the strong manufacturing foundation of the new energy industry chain, mainland battery companies have made important breakthroughs in solid-state battery technology research and development, industrial chain layout, etc., especially with the mass production and loading of semi-solid-state batteries of Chinese enterprises represented by Weilan New Energy, Qingtao Energy, Ganfeng Lithium Battery, etc., making semi-solid-state batteries truly realize the industrialization of the economic sense.

From the perspective of global competition, international mainstream car companies and battery manufacturers are actively investing in the research and development of solid-state batteries, among which the mainland has the largest number of participating enterprises, including traditional battery companies, start-up battery companies, vehicle companies, etc. At present, SAIC, GAC Group, Changan Automobile, CATL, Guoxuan Hi-Tech, Honeycomb Energy and many other car companies and battery companies have successively announced mass production plans for all-solid-state batteries.

From the perspective of the industrial chain, domestic mainstream enterprises have also joined the research and development process of solid-state battery system, and solid-state electrolytes have gradually replaced electrolytes and separators; The cathode material follows the high-nickel ternary and transforms to a lithium-rich manganese group. Anode materials are gradually evolving in the direction of silicon-based anode and lithium metal anode. At the same time, due to the influence of packaging methods, it is also expected to drive the demand for materials such as aluminum-plastic film.

At the same time, the solid-state battery track is also more and more favored by all kinds of capital, according to the statistics of the battery network, up to now, more than ten domestic solid-state battery manufacturing related enterprises have received nearly 50 rounds of financing.

As you may have noticed, there has been news in the industry recently that the mainland may invest about 6 billion yuan in the research and development of all-solid-state batteries, and six companies, including CATL and BYD, have received basic research and development support from the government. This is also the first project in the industry led by relevant government ministries and commissions to encourage qualified enterprises to carry out research and development of all-solid-state battery related technologies.

In addition, in March this year, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and other four departments clearly pointed out that it is necessary to "accelerate the layout of new energy general aviation power technology and equipment, promote the mass production of 400Wh/kg aviation lithium battery products, and realize the application verification of 500Wh/kg aviation lithium battery products".

The low-altitude economy is poised to take off, which will also boost the rapid development of the solid-state battery industry.

At present, all-solid-state batteries still face the problems of ionic conductivity, solid-solid interface and cycle performance, which have not been completely solved. However, as one of the important supporting technologies for the future energy revolution, solid-state batteries have broad market development prospects in many fields such as new energy vehicles, energy storage, and low-altitude economy.
