The "Zu Zhan v. Jiu Yuexi Copyright Infringement Case" was officially filed on March 11, 2022, and many readers and creators are looking forward to this case to determine the frequent "stalking" phenomenon in the field of online literature.
It is reported that the defendant Jiu Yuexi is a well-known writer in China, and is the author of best-selling books such as "Dear Archimedes", "Dear Freud", and "Young You, So Beautiful", among which the movie "Young You", adapted from "Young You, So Beautiful", has a mainland box office of more than 1.5 billion.
In April this year, the TV series "Faint Fire" adapted from Jiu Yuexi's work "Little South Wind" was scheduled to be broadcast, when the case was still in the first-instance stage, and Zu Zhan had spoken out to defend his rights.

Yesterday, the court found that Jiu Yuexi's work "Little South Wind" was plagiarized, and required it to immediately stop providing this work on the website of Jinjiang Literature City, and compensate the plaintiff Zu Zhan 130,000 yuan.
Zhao Hu, the plaintiff's lawyer, told reporters that due to the complexity of such cases, the first-instance verdict was not pronounced in court, and the court served them with a "civil judgment".
According to the verdict, the Chaoyang District People's Court in Beijing found that Jiu Yuexi's work "Little South Wind," which began to be serialized on Jinjiang Literature Network in 2016, "constitutes a substantial similarity" to Zu Zhan's 2015 novel "Embracing You Across Time," published on the same website.
In accordance with the relevant provisions of the Copyright Law, it was decided that the two defendants, Jiu Yuexi and Baihuazhou Literature and Art Publishing House Co., Ltd., should immediately stop publishing and distributing "Xiao Nanfeng" on the effective date of the judgment, and that Jiu Yuexi should immediately stop providing this work on the website of Jinjiang Literature City, and compensate the plaintiff for economic losses of 100,000 yuan and reasonable expenses of 30,000 yuan within 10 days from the effective date of the judgment.
On the afternoon of June 28, Jiu Yuexi posted a long post on Weibo in response, saying that she was "very disappointed and angry" with the first-instance verdict, and that she firmly disagreed with it, and said that she would resolutely appeal in accordance with the law.
Zu Zhan issued a message saying, "Thank you to the court for its fair and just ruling," and thanked all parties for their assistance.
It is reported that the case is the first case of the "anti-plagiarism fund" initiated by the writer Zhuang Yu, and on the afternoon of June 28, Zhuang Yu also forwarded a message on Weibo: "May everyone have the courage to defend their rights." ”
