At noon on the same day, a Modern Express reporter saw a big bird lying next to a tree in the courtyard of the Linhai Police Station of the Sheyang County Public Security Bureau, with white feathers on the front half of its body and black feathers on its back body, and its wings were still shaking, and its body was no longer able to stand up.

After careful inspection and comparison by professionals in Yancheng Rare Bird Nature Reserve, it was found that this big bird was the Oriental White Stork, which has the reputation of "Bird China Treasure", and is a national first-class key protected wild animal.

"At about 6 o'clock in the morning, I received a call from a villager saying that when I was working in my field, I saw a big bird fall in the field and could no longer fly." According to police officer Hu Binbin, when he arrived at the scene, the villagers who called the police had been sitting next to the big bird and guarding. Subsequently, the police took the big bird back to the police station.

Professionals at the Yancheng Rare Bird Nature Reserve confirmed that the Oriental White Stork had broken its left leg and needed to be brought back to the reserve for treatment. The Oriental White Stork was then handed over to a nature reserve, where they treated it before being released back into the wild.
