Zhao Zhiguo, chief engineer of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, said in his speech that by the end of 2023, the total scale of computing power in mainland China will reach 230EFLOPS, of which the scale of intelligent computing will reach 70EFLOPS, with an annual growth rate of more than 70%, becoming an important foundation in the era of artificial intelligence.

At present, the mainland is speeding up the "fast lane" of data element circulation. It is planned to build 181 "Eastern Data and Western Computing" trunk optical cables, and the world's first 400G all-optical inter-provincial backbone network link from Beijing to Hohhot has been officially put into commercial use, significantly improving the network carrying capacity.

"Computing power is an important engine for the development of new quality productivity, and Inner Mongolia will strengthen the basic 'hardware', plant the 'fertile soil' of the industry, open up the application of the 'blue ocean', and draw a new quality of the future with green computing." Wang Lixia, deputy secretary of the Party Committee of the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region and chairman of the autonomous region, said that Inner Mongolia has a cool climate, clean air, dry environment, the largest installed capacity of wind power and photovoltaic in the country, and the cluster advantage of the development of the computing industry.

As an important big data industry development base in Inner Mongolia, Inner Mongolia and Lingel New Area rely on the national strategic layout and policy guarantee of "Eastern Data and Western Computing", and the computing power industry has developed rapidly, and the industrial scale and development index ranks among the top ten data center clusters among the eight hub nodes of the national integrated computing power network.

At present, 266,000 standard racks have been put into use in Inner Mongolia and Lingel New Area, with an installed capacity of more than 1.5 million servers, and a total computing power of 24,000P, of which 21,800P is intelligent computing power. By the end of 2025, the total scale of computing power in Helinger New Area will reach 84,000P, of which the intelligent computing power will reach 79,000P, which has become a veritable "China Cloud Valley".

Li Donghong, deputy dean of the Global Industry Research Institute of Tsinghua University, pointed out in the research report entitled "National "Eastern Data and Western Computing" Hub Node Green Computing Power Index Research Report" that the average green computing power index of the national "Eastern Data and Western Computing" hub node is 4.73, and the Lingel New District is 6.72, ranking in the first echelon. He said that Inner Mongolia and Lingel have a high level of green computing power development, showing strong computing power and sustainable development capabilities.
