On the morning of June 27, Xinyuan Street, Hantai District, organized the first meeting of the first residents' congress. Wu Xirong, deputy director of the Standing Committee of the District People's Congress, attended the meeting, and 45 representatives of street residents from various villages (communities) and industries in the district attended the meeting.
The meeting listened to the "Explanation on the Qualifications of Residents' Representatives of Xinyuan Street, Hantai District", listened to and discussed the "Work Report of the Xinyuan Street Office of Hantai District", "Work Report of the Xinyuan Street Working Committee of the Standing Committee of the Hantai District People's Congress", "Candidate Project Suggestions for People's Livelihood in Xinyuan Street, Hantai District in 2024", voted and passed the "Rules of Procedure of the Residents' Congress of Xinyuan Street, Hantai District" (draft), "Implementation Measures for the Voting System of People's Livelihood in Xinyuan Street, Hantai District" (draft), and voted for the newly repaired maintenance road, flood control, drainage, cleaning, infrastructure maintenance and other annual livelihood projects 5, and announced to the public.
In the group discussion session, the representatives of the deliberations around the relevant drafts, various reports and hot spots and difficult issues of concern to the masses carried out a warm exchange and discussion, everyone expressed their opinions, spoke freely, fully affirmed the work of the office and the street people's congress working committee, and actively put forward valuable opinions and suggestions for the economic and social development of Xinyuan street. More than 30 constructive opinions and suggestions related to people's livelihood and urban construction were collected on the spot.
During the meeting, two delegates delivered keynote speeches. They have said that the implementation of the system of street residents' representative meetings is an important measure for residents to participate in consultations and deliberations on a regular basis, so that they can more intuitively understand the work of the street office, and will conscientiously perform their duties in the future, and actively play the role of a bridge between the street and the residents, so as to truly reflect the residents' urgent and difficult problems, and promote the development of the street and the construction of grassroots democracy.
In the next step, Xinyuan Street will rely on the residents' congress system, refer to the management model of the district people's congress deputies, and incorporate the representatives into the liaison station of the people's congress deputies in the village (resident) district, and carry out various inspection and research activities on a regular basis to ensure that the handling of various people's livelihood projects and the opinions and suggestions of the deputies' deputies is effective, give full play to the advantages of the residents' deliberative congress system, actively practice the people-centered development idea, and contribute to the high-quality economic and social development of Xinyuan Street and the construction of democracy and rule of law.
