Vigilance: Wheat's "dwarf stalks and big spikes" are easy to "die white spikes"

author:Northern Rural Network

Like a flood, gold does not "float" on the water.

The more the wheat varieties that shout for "dwarf stalks and big ears", the more they are like cow dung floating on the water, and the more there are "incurable" defects. One of the biggest defects is the "dead white spike" caused by rhizome rot, and the shortcomings such as not being resistant to drought and dry hot winds.

1. How did the "dead white ear" of wheat happen?

Root rot, total erosion, stem base rot, sheath blight and other soil-borne diseases can cause wheat "dead white ears".

Wheat varieties with underdeveloped root systems have serious "dead white ears".

Wheat varieties that are not drought resistant are seriously "dead and white-eared".

Wheat varieties that are not resistant to dry and hot winds have serious "dead white ears".

Wheat varieties have underdeveloped root systems, and are most likely to have serious "dead white ears".

Second, the varieties of dwarf stalks and large spikes are not as good as the varieties with dwarf stalks and large spikes

1) The wheat is dwarf, and the biomass of a single plant is small = the "limit" of the approved grain weight of a single spike will not exceed 1.8 grams (subject to the approval announcement), just like [a calf can't pull a cart], more "calves" need to pull "more carts" to do it - therefore, the only way out for dwarf wheat is: high panicle rate and more ears per mu, so as to compensate for the defect of low grain weight per panicle.

2) The wheat is large, and the panicle rate is 100% low or very low = about 400,000, or 350,000, or 300,000 ears per mu.

The smaller the spike per mu, the higher the grain weight of a single spike is required—the approved grain weight of a single spike is 1.8 grams to 2 grams. In this way: 400,000 spikes × 1.8 grams = 1,440 catties, or 350,000 spikes × 2 grams = 1,400 catties.

Taking the approved number of grains per spike as an example, it requires an approved 1000-grain weight of 45 grams to 50 grams - which requires an approved plant height of 75 cm to 80 cm [medium plant height] to be realized. There is not enough tall enough straw and not enough biomass to "carry" a better 1000-grain weight.

3) The 1000-grain weight of wheat is not only related to the straw biomass (short plant height = not conducive to drought resistance), but also the biggest influencing factor is [root system], the more developed the root system = the higher the 1000-grain weight (the larger the grain), and the worse the root system = the smaller the grain (the lower the 1000-grain weight).

At the same time, the less developed the root system, the less [root exudate], the weaker the resistance to soil-borne diseases, and the more serious the "dead white spike".

4) The "dwarf stalk and big spike" of the wheat variety, like "Wu Dalang" marrying "Pan Jinlian", was doomed to tragedy from the beginning.

The panicle rate is low ("sparse" in the field), the grains are small (the weight of 1000 grains is low), and because of the "black grains" (low approved bulk density) caused by the "dead white spikes", there are eggs alone. The picture below is a part of the "victims" of the "dwarf stalk and big spike" wheat variety:

3. In wheat fields with serious "dead white ears", the "green wilt" and "yellow wilt" of corn in the lower stubble will also be relatively serious

Wheat is a "gramineous crop", corn is also a "gramineous crop", and many diseases of the two crops are "symbiotic", don't you believe it? You can take a variety of pathogenic bacteria of soil-borne diseases of wheat to correspond to the pathogens of "bacterial wilt" and "yellow wilt" caused by corn rhizome rot.

However, if the corn can not be in early October, "the stems and leaves are green + the bracts are white + the ears are golden", the yield will be reduced by at least 20%.

The comparison of the following two pictures is a "world of difference" with a yield reduction of 500 catties per mu and an increase of 500 catties per mu.

Moreover, any variety is inseparable from the "developed root system", in addition to resisting yield reduction, it can also "save water and fertilizer" to increase the yield by several hundred catties per mu. #农业真科技##揭露农业伪科学##小麦真科技#
