Recently, Qianyang County has been affected by continuous high temperature weather, and the soil moisture has been seriously lost, and there have been different degrees of drought, which has had a certain impact on the normal growth of crops in the county. In the face of drought, the whole county attaches great importance to it, makes careful arrangements, actively and effectively responds, and sets off an upsurge of drought resistance and seedling protection.
Carefully organize and shoulder responsibility. It is important to ensure that people drink, promote summer sowing, and raise seedlings as important tasks in the current drought-fighting work. Timely convene drought-fighting work meetings, make arrangements for drought-fighting work, and strictly implement the system of responsibility of administrative heads and the system of division of labor among departments. Closely monitor the moisture and seedling conditions, organize experts to analyze and judge the development trend of the drought situation, formulate and adjust drought-fighting measures, and ensure drinking water and food security for people and livestock.
Precise overall planning to ensure supply. Based on the resistance to major drought and long-term drought, we have refined and improved the water source guarantee plan, and scientifically deployed 13 small and medium-sized reservoirs and 5 water supply stations to fight drought and ensure drinking water. Coordinate the county's drought-fighting equipment, open 50 sets of wells, more than 60 sets of pumps, 13 sets of sprinkler irrigation machines, increase the pumping flow, and put into drought-fighting irrigation. Organize all towns to make full use of water sources such as reservoirs, artesian canals, and pumping stations within their jurisdictions, and speed up the progress of irrigation around the clock. Extensively mobilize the masses to alleviate the drought situation in a timely and effective manner through canal irrigation, well irrigation, drip irrigation, sprinkler irrigation, and other means.
Fine service to ensure a bumper harvest. The frequency of soil moisture monitoring should be encrypted, and the plots of land surveyed and reported should be expanded, so as to provide technical support for the scientific implementation of various drought control measures. Seven drought-fighting technical guidance groups have been set up to guide the masses in towns and villages to carry out more than 20 drought-fighting technical guidance sessions in crop fields, covering 135,000 mu. Strengthen the inspection, maintenance and commissioning of water conservancy facilities to ensure the normal operation of drought-fighting equipment. Sufficient power guarantee, preferential electricity prices are tilted in policy, and full support is given to drought resistance and seedling protection. Pay close attention to weather changes, and organize artificial rain enhancement operations 3 times in a timely manner. Through household visits, WeChat, broadcasting, and propaganda columns, we comprehensively publicized the knowledge of drought resistance, and sent more than 10,000 pieces of drought prevention information. More than 10 drought-fighting inspections have been carried out to consolidate the responsibility for drought-fighting. The whole county strictly implements the 24-hour duty and leadership system, puts drought-fighting emergency forces in front, and is ready to win the victory against drought and harvest grain.
Up to now, Qianyang County has accumulated a total of 41,156 acres of summer irrigation area, including 7,709 acres of grain crops irrigated and 33,447 acres of orchard vegetables. (Contributed by Qianyang County Emergency Management Bureau)
