The development of armored forces today is completely different from that of the last century. However, when tanks first appeared, engineers thought exactly the opposite, and these ten vehicles are the most obvious proof of this.
Project 279
This tank appeared in 1957 and measures 9.8x3.6 meters. The car weighs more than 60 tons. The tank is still at the experimental stage. Due to the low maneuverability and speed, it was not allowed to be tested.

British tank in 1940. It measures 10.1x3.1 meters and weighs up to 65 tons. It is big, long, and most importantly clumsy, useless in real combat. Curiously, despite the huge weight, the armor of the TOG I was very weak.
T-28 Turtle

Its frontal armor is also very strong.
A-30 Turtle
The British "Turtle" tank appeared in 1943 and measures 10x3.9x3 meters. The maximum speed of the tank is only 19 km/h, so its name is well-deserved. The same goes for the engineers who made it, and the project was completed only after the end of the war.
E-100
This advanced German tank turned the battlefields of World War II upside down. This tank was really successful, and it was not the largest. It is 12 meters long, 4 meters wide, and 3.2 meters high. The tank weighed 140 tons. Fortunately, Germany was defeated before the E-100 could enter the battlefield.

"Tsar Tank"
At the height of the First World War, Russia built a real fortress on horse-drawn carriages. This behemoth has a top speed of 17 kilometers per hour. But this tank never found its place. In 1923, a tragic fate awaited it. The tank was simply disassembled for scrap metal.
