Academician Gu Xinyi, an expert in petroleum and mining machinery, has led China's petroleum engineering into the international leading level in many fields, and has made outstanding contributions to the revitalization of the motherland's petroleum science and technology. After 60 years of scientific research, he vowed to dedicate oil to the motherland, and he was still tireless in his old age.
2. Academician Sheng Zhiyong, an expert in burn surgery, one of the main pioneers of burn and trauma medicine in the mainland, a great clinician with superb medical skills and noble medical ethics, established the first critical care medical ward (ICU) in the whole army, and made outstanding contributions to the development of medicine in the mainland.
3. Academician Hu Hesheng (female), mathematician, studied under Academician Su Buqing, and loved by the famous mathematician Academician Gu Chaohao. As the first female academician in the field of mathematics in China, Academician Hu Hesheng has made outstanding contributions to the research of projective differential geometry, complete motion groups in Riemann space, gauge fields, etc., and has made outstanding contributions to the development of continental differential geometry.
4. Academician Zhu Bofang, an expert in hydraulic structures, the founder and pioneer of the theory of hydraulic concrete structures in mainland China, has made outstanding contributions to the management of major rivers and hydropower development in mainland China.
5. Academician Liu Yunyi, a hepatobiliary and pancreatic surgeon, has made foundational and pioneering contributions to the development of hepatobiliary and pancreatic surgery in mainland China.
