Who would dare to say that there is no need to build the Shenzhu Channel?

author:Little Fan Encyclopedia

"The car is smooth, the people are prosperous, and the wealth is prosperous".

The world-renowned super landmark, the world's cross-sea project, the Shenzhen-Zhongshan Channel, was officially opened yesterday.

This is a moment that 86 million people in the Greater Bay Area have been waiting for.

According to official reports, the traffic volume of the Shenzhen-Zhongshan Corridor has exceeded 125,000 vehicles in one day (as of 15 o'clock on July 1).

What is this concept? On the first day of the May Day holiday in 2024, the traffic volume of Humen Bridge will be about 106,100 trips.

If such traffic flow is followed, the Shenzhen-Zhongshan Corridor will replace the Humen Bridge and even the Nansha Bridge and become the "traffic responsibility" of the Greater Bay Area.

Who would dare to say that there is no need to build the Shenzhu Channel?

Some people may say that the experience of traffic jam on the first day is not ideal, and it has lost the meaning of its own construction.

But never underestimate the power of a bridge, a road.

On the first day of its opening, many GBA residents couldn't wait to experience this historic moment for themselves. Within two hours of opening, the traffic reached 16,000 vehicles.

As one of them, Phoenix Jun looked at this two-way 8-lane highway and was crowded with cars.

All kinds of Guangdong A, B, C, T, and Z are interspersed, and it feels like the entire Greater Bay Area is coming! No wonder experts predict "saturation when it is opened".

If that's not intuitive enough, then let's take a look at God's perspective, densely packed.

At the same time, there are some different voices on the Internet, such as:

Some people believe that since the time and speed cannot be as expected and almost the same as the speed of the Humen Bridge, the time, manpower and material resources invested in the construction of the bridge are not cost-effective.

In the same way, the current planning of the Shenzhen-Zhuhai channel should be stopped in time as the best policy.

However, if you think that the most important function of each sea-crossing bridge is transportation and commuting, it is too much to underestimate it.

The Bay Area Inclusion record is constantly being refreshed

"1200 billion, build a scenic bridge!" It is the previous evaluation of the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge.

Back in 2018, when the bridge was just opened to traffic, few cars passed through the entire bridge, Hong Kong people were reluctant to come, and mainlanders were not qualified to go.

Moreover, the driving habits are also different, Hong Kong is a right-hand drive car.

In addition, in 2020, the mask period will be entered, and under the superposition of various factors, the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge was once very deserted, causing widespread doubts among the public:

"It makes sense to spend so much money to build a scenic bridge?"

Who would dare to say that there is no need to build the Shenzhu Channel?

Time is the best witness. The traffic flow of the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge has increased year after year, slapping many short-singing forces in the face.

With the in-depth promotion of the policies of "Hong Kong cars going north" and "Macao cars going north", more and more Hong Kong and Macao residents choose to "go north" through the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge for tourism and leisure consumption.

Today happens to be the first anniversary of "Hong Kong cars going north", and a dazzling report card is presented.

As of 16 o'clock on June 30 this year, the number of "Hong Kong vehicles going north" inspected by the station has exceeded 950,000, and more than 82,000 drivers have completed the border inspection and filing of "Hong Kong vehicles going north", and more than 67,000 vehicles have been completed.

At present, Hong Kong single-plate vehicles have become the main type of vehicles cleared at the port, accounting for 33% of the total daily passenger car clearance at the port.

Nowadays, everyone's enthusiasm for Hong Kong cars to go north is still undiminished, and on the eve of major festivals, the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge is in a state of congestion.

During the Dragon Boat Festival not long ago, a total of 1.17 million Hong Kong residents left the country, of which 78% or 915,000 chose to go north.

Such a large-scale travel led to the end of the holiday, and the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge on the way back was stuck in traffic from the afternoon to late at night.

So is the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge still a scenic bridge? Not only is it used, but there is also a lot of demand.

This interconnection is not only about transportation, but also about the closer personnel exchanges and economic and trade cooperation between Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao, and more and more Hong Kong and Macao residents are living, doing business, working and traveling in the mainland.

It is reported that more than 300,000 Hong Kong and Macao residents have participated in Guangdong's pension, work-related injury and unemployment insurance.

Whether it is tourism, service industry or financial industry across the country, it has brought new vitality.

It is worth mentioning that these changes have not only radiated to Zhuhai, but even the entire Bay Area and other parts of the country.

Therefore, the bridge is not only connected by traffic commuting, personnel exchanges, and even industrial and land elements, but more importantly, it breaks down the barriers of the entire Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and accelerates integration into the "melting pot" mode.

03

Why are so many bridges being built in the Greater Bay Area?

In 1869, the opening of the Suez Canal shortened the distance between Europe and Asia by at least 7,000 kilometers, smoothing the distance between the earth.

In 1994, the Anglo-French Channel Tunnel crossed the English Channel, breaking the glorious isolation of the Anglo-Saxons for centuries and transforming Europe.

The social process of mankind is closely related to these projects of the century.

The same is true for the opening of the Shenzhen-Zhongshan Corridor, the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge and the Humen Bridge, which are crucial to promoting the development of the two places.

You must know that the Pearl River Estuary is an "inverted V", and the connection between the east and west banks cannot be closely and efficiently shared due to the relationship between the traffic barriers, and the development of the west bank of the Pearl River Delta is always slow and half a beat:

Zhongshan, Zhuhai and Jiangmen naturally suffered losses in undertaking industrial transfer, and gradually opened up the gap.

As of the end of 2023, the total GDP of cities on the west bank of the Pearl River is only 1/5 of that of cities on the east coast, and the headquarters of the world's top 500 companies are mainly concentrated in cities on the east coast.

Now that the Shenzhen-Zhongshan Corridor has been completed, it has completed a key horizontal of the 100-kilometer "Golden Inner Bay" A-shaped transportation network skeleton around the Pearl River Estuary.

It is also a historic time for Shenzhen and Guangzhou, two first-tier cities, to directly "shake hands"!

So the traffic jam is also obvious to all, because the demand is too great!

Although on the eve of the opening, there is no shortage of people visiting and checking in, but Phoenix Jun predicts that in the future, the traffic volume undertaken by this sea-crossing bridge and even all the sea-crossing bridges in the Bay Area will only be more, not less.

Civil construction will be completed in 2026, and the line will be opened in 2028

In addition to the good news of the cross-sea bridge, the Shenjiang Railway, an important part of the coastal passage of the main channel of the national "eight vertical and eight horizontal" high-speed railway, has started construction.

According to the plan, the main line of the Shenzhen-Mao Railway Line leads from the planned Shenzhen hub Xili Station, passes through Shenzhen Bao'an, Dongguan Binhaiwan, Guangzhou Nansha, Zhongshan to Jiangmen, and introduces the Jiangmen Station of Shenzhen-Mao Railway, with a total length of 116.3 kilometers.

It passes through five cities, including Shenzhen, Guangzhou, Dongguan, Zhongshan and Jiangmen, and is expected to be completed and opened to traffic in 2025.

At the same time, the line will be combined with the introduction of the Guangzhou-Zhuhai Intercity Railway Zhongshan Station to the Shenzhen-Shenzhen Railway, the existing Zhongshan Station will be renovated and expanded, and a new Zhongshan North Station will be built to realize the connection between the Guangzhou-Zhuhai Intercity Railway and the Shenzhen-Jiangxi Railway.

In the future, through the newly built Zhongshan North Railway Station, the two lines of Guangzhou-Zhuhai Intercity and Shenzhen-Jiangxi Railway can be directly connected.

At that time, you can go directly from Zhuhai North Railway Station to Shenzhen Airport and Shenzhen Xili Station.

Previously, Phoenix Jun also consulted relevant staff to confirm the latest process, and the civil construction will be completed in 2026 as planned, and the line will be opened in 2028.

Who would dare to say that there is no need to build the Shenzhu Channel?

That is to say, after the opening of the Shenzhen-Jiangxi Railway, it is a 10-minute drive from Zhuhai North Station to Zhongshan Station with reference to the Guangzhou-Zhuhai Intercity, and after the completion of the connecting line, it is expected that Zhuhai North will only take 35 minutes to Shenzhen Airport at the earliest.

04

Who would say that there is no need to build the Shenzhen-Zhuhai Channel?

Based on this, some people will ask, is there no need to build the Shenzhu Channel?

No, the construction of the Shenzhen-Zhuhai Corridor connecting the two special zone cities on the east and west coasts of the Greater Bay Area is actually of more far-reaching significance.

It is also rare in the country, and it is an urgent need for the Greater Bay Area, especially Zhuhai on the west coast.

Therefore, Zhuhai has been earnestly promoting the construction of the Shenzhen-Zhuhai Corridor.

The news kept coming:

Recently, the relevant departments of Guangdong Province also replied:

Who would dare to say that there is no need to build the Shenzhu Channel?

At present, many people believe that building too many sea-crossing bridges does not make much sense in the context of financial constraints.

But to sum up, Phoenix Jun believes that the significance of the sea-crossing bridges needs to be viewed in the long term and the overall situation, and it is precisely because of all kinds of huge dividends that it is worth such a heavy investment and large-scale construction.

Let's look forward to the day when all the sea-crossing bridges in the Greater Bay Area will be completed and opened to traffic!

What do you think about this?
