France vs. Belgium - 12 a.m. EDT / 12 p.m. EDT, Düsseldorf

For the first time since 2012, the French team failed to win the group in a major tournament and reached the knockout stage. So far, however, no victory has been achieved in Germany.

In fact, France scored just two goals – an own goal and a penalty – and won just one of Group D's games. After Max Warber's own goal helped France narrow win over Austria in their opening match, France were then held to a 0-0 draw by the Netherlands, followed by a 1-1 draw with an already eliminated Poland who took the top spot.

Belgium have never beaten France in a major tournament final. France have won all four of their games – most recently at the 2018 World Cup in Russia, where Samuel Umtiti's goal helped the eventual champions win 1-0 in the semi-finals.

Portugal are the favourites to win today's round of 16: according to Oddschecker, the 2016 European champions are priced at -300 to advance, while Slovenia are priced at +900. However, Slovenia won their only previous meeting between the two teams. In March of this year, goals from Adam Gniezda Cherin and Timmy Elsnik gave the underdog a 2-0 victory in a friendly in Ljubljana.
