Douglas Luiz officially joined Juventus for a transfer fee of up to 50 million euros and signed a five-year contract

Juventus FC officially announced on its official website that Brazilian midfielder Douglas Luiz has joined from Aston Villa for a transfer fee of 50 million euros.

Juventus wrote in a statement: "Now the official announcement: Douglas Luiz has become a Juventus player! The Brazil international has signed a five-year contract with the Bianconeri until 30 June 2029. ”

Juventus, a football club listed on the stock market, has detailed the financial details of the deal.

"Juventus Football Club has announced an agreement with Aston Villa Football Club to acquire the registration rights of Douglas Luiz for a transfer fee of 50 million euros, to be paid over four financial years, plus a floating clause of 1.5 million. Juve have signed an employment contract with the player until 30 June 2029. ”

However, Aston Villa will only get half of the transfer fee in cash, as they need to buy Ilin and Barrenechea from the Bianconeri for a total price of €25 million.

Juve and Villa have reached an agreement on a player swap for Douglas Luiz, Ealing and Barrenechea, with the latter joining the swap after American midfielder McKennie refused to leave Juve to join Villa, even though his contract expires in June 2025.

Juventus are expected to announce Villa's deal for Barrenechea and Ivin Jr. soon, meaning the Torino giants have spent €25 million in cash to sign Brazil international Douglas Luiz, who scored 10 goals for Villa last season.

Juventus' new midfielder Douglas Luiz donned the Bianconeri shirt for the first time and sent a message to the fans of the new club and thanked everyone at Aston Villa.

Juventus confirmed on Sunday the signing of Douglas Luiz from Villa for €50 million. However, half of the cost will be paid by Barrenechea and Ilin, with the Premier League club due to announce their arrival soon.

Luiz, who is currently playing in the Copa America with the Brazilian national team in the United States, wore Juventus' new training uniform for the first time and sent his first message to Juventus fans on his Instagram account. The Brazilian also posted a video showing his best goal at Villa and his vision for the future at Torino.

"It's time to say goodbye, Villa Park," Luis said. First of all, I would like to thank everyone (the club, the players, the fans and the staff) for making me feel so welcome, the fans have had an impact on my career, I will never forget and I will miss you! ”

"I hope I make you very proud and you can be sure that as a player and as a person I've been giving my best at my best. These five years have been filled with joy, celebrations, battles, learning, competitions, fun and many other things. ”

'Now I'm going to continue my life at another club, but my fans and my passion for you will never fade, thank you for everything.'

Juventus midfielder Paul Pogba has been banned for four years for failing a doping test, but he has been invited to meet the French ahead of their Euro 2024 last-16 tie against Belgium.

Pogba appealed to the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) after being banned for four years for failing to pass a doping test in August last year. If the appeal fails, then Juve are likely to terminate his contract early with the right reasons, or terminate the contract by mutual agreement.

However, Pogba will not only watch the French national team match against Belgium live from the stands in Düsseldorf as a guest, but will also be invited to meet with the team in advance to encourage his former team-mates.

Former Juventus midfielder Matuidi is also on the list, as France national team boss Didier Deschamps hopes the two 2018 World Cup winners can inspire his current squad.

Pogba has yet to announce his retirement, with the French midfielder clarifying that it was a "no longer exist" report because it was a joke he had made in past interviews.
