This is a set of nearly 1,000 square meters of single-family villa design project, a total of five floors, surrounded by gardens and flowing water.
The magnification of space is not a simple patchwork of planes. Design needs to be controlled, from the planning of the building, to the details, and even the thinking of future life scenes. The needs of the homeowner determine the basic functions of the villa, and the designer has as much insight into the daily life as possible that the residents ignore based on the needs, so that the life scene can be restored to the source of comfort.
The daily life of the occupants, as far as the eye can see, extends to the natural boundary outside the house, with the help of outdoor landscapes and greenery, readjusting the complementarity and interaction between the interior and natural light, all the details are the focus of the design. @YSSTUDIO Yuchen designed and the owner of the house together to create this set of "back to the mountains and looking at the river", which is closely related to light and shadow, architecture, nature, and the Jialing River.
Entrance and dining room
Entering the house is restrained, and the most restrained material is used to express the emotion of returning home.
The wavy ceiling at the top of the breakfast area is connected to the Chinese kitchen, which is a clever way to hide the various pipes, and also creates a unique landscape for the interior, welcoming the soft transition of light.
This area is in the southeast, where the sun is most abundant. We expect this home to follow the laws of nature, use light as an alarm clock, and eat at sunrise. Every morning is a fresh beginning.
Banquet hall on the first floor
The banquet hall has chosen a single piece of wood for the tabletop, with the most primitive tension of the material, without embellishment. The tulip chair breaks through the ground at this moment, simple and with organic power. It is not intended to replicate the shape of nature, but it conveys a cleanliness and purity to the ballroom.
On both sides of the banquet hall, there are gardens, water pavilions, and geometric buildings, with the help of the power of the master, so that the interior has the most natural life scene.

The design of the garden came from Yang Xu's suggestion and was inspired by architect Scarpa's design of the Venice Stampalia Foundation, Scarpa's design concept is to use the optical illusion created by spatial isolation to shape the poetry of space. Yang Xu referred to his technique and set up a pool outdoors, through the isolation of water, the distance between the courtyard wall and the viewer was widened, and then the scattered green plants covered the distant wall, the water light and green shadows, expanding the sense of space of the courtyard.
Main living room on the ground floor
The whole house is painted with "light and shadow", and because of this, a large area of gray and white texture texture paint is used in the living room, which is convenient for light to shuttle to any corner of the interior for painting. On the top surface of the living room, bare cement is boldly used as the base layer, which stretches the depth of field and level of the space, and cleverly avoids the lack of floor height.
The black columns pull through the first and second floors, adding a sense of extension to the space. The second floor is a place for family activities, and the continuation of the material also makes the space on the two floors more interactive.
In addition, wood, as the most natural material, is embellished on the top surface and in the details, and extends to every floor, which also runs through this home, which coincides with the temperament of the space.
Every era, all kinds of architecture, have their own language of pursuing light, and we are no exception. Redesigning windows is the essence of our light chasing. The opening of the original narrow windows, merging or through geometric arcs, constitutes the poetry of the house's search for light.
One of the windows in the living room is facing the red maple, and we have been patiently waiting for a year for the trees to grow slowly; On the other side, a retro style is constructed in a curved shape, and when you push it open, you can get in close contact with the outdoor pond, increasing the linkage between indoor and outdoor.
Stairs and aisles
Compared with the large space bordering nature on the first floor, the second floor is more about perceiving tranquility and calmness. The use of more wood elements makes the temperature of the space more suitable for the body itself.
The holes in the stairwell have been specially designed. The geometric shape of the wall hole allows the light to "take advantage of the void" and sway freely. Whenever it's sunny, it's the time to stretch out naturally. The interior space is full of breathing due to the change of light, blending into nature, and also building a harmonious and symbiotic relationship between man and nature.
2nd floor space
The second floor creates an intimate space for the occupants of nature, self, spirit and body to perceive each other, it is not large, or even just a small wool sofa with a sense of wrapping, but in this, it seems that time has slowed down, and life can be seen more clearly, which is also the shaping of the introverted world.
Master bedroom suite
Cloakrooms and bedrooms pay more attention to the spirit, consciousness, feelings, and body of the occupants. Different colors express different personality traits, and we have added a deep color here, which is the subconscious tenacity of the owner. After seeing the mountains and rivers, the vast and scorching heat, I returned to tranquility. The elegant color scheme and the natural scenery by the window will dilute all emotions and give the owner tolerance.
This abode houses the peaceful soul of the owner. In addition to physical comfort, we wanted to touch on the expression of the homeowner's spirit. Shi Tiesheng once said that the meaning of life is not in the outward search, but in the inward establishment.
The complete inner world, the upward attitude to life, the calm vitality, the establishment of inner order and the integration of space, so that the space also perceives the expression of the occupants.
This is the purest field, which not only contains the epitome of the occupant's life in the past few decades, but also the place where the most real emotions are expressed, and finally penetrates into the softness of the heart.
