——Remembering the 24 years of Chinese poetry creation and recitation art in Japan entered Japanese universities

On June 30, 2024, the "Poetry Creation and Recitation Art on Campus" event co-sponsored by the Japanese Chinese Writers Association, the Pacific Arts and Culture Association, and the China-Japan Translators Association was held as scheduled in the conference room on the 8th floor of Building 14 of Aoyama Gakuin University in Tokyo, Japan. Famous poets, writers, painters, newspaper editors-in-chief, etc., participated in the event, and a total of more than 30 literary and art lovers from various industries participated in the event. The "Poetry Writing Talk" and the wonderful "Sonnet Poetry Recitation Performance" led the elegant art into the hearts of Japanese universities and everyone, and also inspired everyone's love and pursuit of art.
The event was divided into two sessions, the first half of the "Poetry Creation Talk" was hosted by Li Xiaochan, a member of the Japanese Chinese Writers Association who won the first prize of the International Poetry Award of Francesco Gianpietri in Italy. The keynote speakers, Jin Wei, Shi Yin and Li Yongliang, talked about their experiences in poetry creation from their own perspectives, from how to appreciate poetry to review the rise and development of poetry, from the world's poetry classics to China's poetry art...... It gave a vivid and meaningful lesson to the poetry lovers in the audience. It not only led everyone to understand the charm of poetry art, but also guided everyone to think about the importance of cultural self-confidence and inheritance, and opened up a new perspective to art, history and culture.
The second half of the "sonnet recitation" was hosted by Yiping, who once won the reputation of Japan's national beautiful witch. The 12 reciters recited 12 "sonnets" composed by Li Yongliang. They are Lu Si's "Our Family Exhibition", Xiaoxiao "Father's Tears", Yang Hailun's "For a One's Station", Yan Song's "Our Children", Ange's "Concert in the Suburbs of Vienna", Song Jinggang's "The British Landlord's Umbrella", Wang Meizi's "There is a Flower", Yan Qing's "Sequins in Life", Wang Zijiang's "Life Plan", Wang Hui's "I'm Waiting for You Under the Bodhi Tree", Yiping's "Mother-in-law's Emerald" and Jiang Feng's "Mother Who Is Not a Mother". Japanese translator Junko Furuya also translated 12 poems into Japanese and displayed them on the PPT in the conference room. Keio University's Wu Min and Li Yongliang conducted humorous and witty art quiz comments on each poem in Japanese. Li Xiaochan, a special guest judge, and Xu Qing of Zhejiang Sci-Tech University elaborated on the art of poetry from two aspects: micro and macro respectively. Finally, Jiang Jianqiang, President of the Japanese Chinese Writers Association, and Jin Xiaoming, President of the China-Japan Translators Association, also talked about their respective feelings on the philosophy and concept of poetry.
In this cultural feast, everyone was infected by the emotions conveyed by the reciter on stage, and watched and listened intently, for fear of missing the wonderful details. Not only the audience, but also the participants, whose enthusiasm and vitality complemented the exquisite skills of the reciters, expressing their inner praise for poetry and respect for high art with the most sincere applause. We look forward to holding more such activities in the future, so as to enhance the cohesion of overseas Chinese and let overseas Chinese hug each other tightly like pomegranate seeds, and work together in unity and common prosperity.
